Picked up a mountain bike in Supervalu for 99eur last weekend.

Seems fine so far. Looks good, heavy enough tho.
Good price if you're just looking for something to get around on.

I am looking for one, for weekends, when sun is out etc - but I know next to nothing about bikes - so, any comments on this bike?

    thanks in advance!

Well for 99euro it ain't bad value at all.

It's fine to ride. Has full suspension front & rear. Brakes & tyres are decent.
    Gears smooth enough for now.

If you are looking for a cheap bike, then you should buy one without front and rear suspension.

For such a cheap bike, these are useless, they are just there for show for kids, but add lots of unnecessary extra weight.

BTW you can't buy decent rare suspension unless you are paying over €2000 for the bike, that is why decent bikes (i.e. Specialised Rockhoppers) costing in the region of a €1000 don't even have rare suspension.

With bikes you get what you pay for.

Personally I'd say it would be worth paying a little more and going to a real bike shop like Cycleways.

Personally i think weight is an important issue. A decent bike thats easy to ride should be effortless to pick up and it makes a huge difference to the ride. Avoid steel and go for alloy. Giant do alloy mountain bikes for little over 200 if you shop around
oh and none of that suspension rubbish. it's just extra weight as already mentioned.
