Tile Style advice for kitchen

We are going to tile our kitchen floor (currently lino).
The kitchen is not huge about 12' x 12' with maybe 9 -10 sqM of floor space.

The kitchen units are a cream shaker with solid Maple counter tops and matching handles on the units. Oven is brushed steel and is wall mounted.

Any suggestions for a really nice tile that will not shrink the room and that will match in nicely with our kitchen?

Also... who is doing good deals on tiles at the moment, any Sales on?

hugh, we have the same units, but with an Iroko worktop, we put a cream porcelain tile on the floor, have a look at our blog, there are pics there from about Jan or so of the floor done.

Same with us - cream units, iroko top and went for cream tiles - think it would make it all too dark to go for something darker and interest can be added in other more easily changed ways - tiles are there to stay

wow- I am currently in the same position- cream units, wooden counter-top. I was thinking of slate for the floor (same flooring will go into the hall at the same time). Too dark??

Slate my mother-in-law and sister have and they are totally sick of it, continuosly seems to be dirty and the both said never again, way too much work to it.

Hi Yop, nice kitchen. Ours is smaller. I had seen a nice pic of cream glazed tiles on tht tilestyle website that caught my eye.

Is the cream hard to keep clean?

    They look high gloss...are they?
