Technikdirekt.de - Any Experience With?

I am looking to buy my first ever digital camera and after spending some time reading reviews/epinions etc. settled on the Canon IXUS 65. Got some quotes from local photoshops in Cork of €449 & €499 for this camera, yet it ships for €301 on Technikdirekt.de (http://www.technikdirekt.de/main/en/foto/fotodigital/digitale-sucherkameras/875383/-/Article.html?fillspace=1)

Has anyone ever used this camera site? If so any feedback? Delivery times, problems? Their price in comparison to off the shelf in Cork seems like a steal.

I've used them a couple of times and found them very good. They usually ship in a day or two (assuming the item is in stock) and delivery takes another 3-4 days after that. highly recomended

I've got a tripod on the way from them at the moment.. I've had good experiences with them in the past but this is a little different. It seems they've changed courier from DHL and my package has apparently been stopped in the German midlands for the last 2 days. Also, they never emailed me to inform that the package had been sent or to give me the tracking number. I had to chase them for the info.

Last time I ordered a point & shoot camera from them it took around 5 days to be delivered. I made this order early Monday morning and it didn't ship until Wednesday. If I dont have the damn order by Tuesday...

When they used DHL it was like clockwork. This other crowd (DPD) can't seem to find their way out of Germany.

Bought two Canon lenses of them last week , I had no problems , the lenses arrived in top condition.

thank you for the feedback it seems positive in general. with the savings i'll be making on the camera i won't be too worried if it takes a bit longer to arrive.

DPD is Deutsche Paket Dienst, quite a well established and reliable company from what I remember from when I lived there. Had my flashgun delivered via them recently and it was shipped late on a Thursday and arrived the following Monday. Often it comes down to who their handling agents are in Ireland; I don't think I've ever had a DHL parcel delivered by DHL themselves, for example. I've also had the strange experience that they said they'd shipped via DHL, but that the tracking number couldn't actually be used to track it

I got 2 items delivered from them,it was Interlink who brought them.No problems with Tecknik.

They're reliable. I've ordered a fair bit of stuff from them over the past couple of years, and there's been no problem.

One thing is to confirm before ordering that they have everything in stock, as the website doesn't, or at least didn't, indicate this. At one stage this almost held an entire order up because they were waiting on stock of the particular CF card I'd ordered.

Another vote for them but just check that you are getting an english manual. When I bought my 350d from them it came with french/german/spanish user pack.

But you can buy replacement manuals from Canon, mine was 12€ (or just download the pdf) so you should still make a huge saving.

Another vote for technikdirekt. On seperate occasions I've bought a tripod, dvd player, p&s camera and my first dSLR, all from TD at great prices and without any bother whatsoever.

In fact on one occasion, my bank got a little jumpy at the large payment being charged to card from some german website and put a hold on it, and technikdirekt were far more helpful than BoI in sorting it all out.

got my package this morning and in typical interlink stylee, one side of the box had been sitting in a puddle and was ready to disintegrate as soon as I pulled off the tape. Naturally also the box inside with the tripod in it was also soaked. Ahh interlink, it wouldn't be a successful delivery unless they fcuked something up.

a couple fo months ago i bought my dSRL and a good camcorder on technickdirekt for the price i would have paid for the dSRL alone here in cork... plus they're quick and reliable. go for it

I like the AC-FOTO site ,are they as good as Technik does anyone know ?

I only used them once but I found them as good as technikdireckt.
