Anyone use a MacbookPro with Windows

Does anyone use a macbook pro purely with windows? I'm getting a laptop and need to use pretty much all XP programs but much prefur the physical aspect of the mac laptops.
Would it be stupid to get a mac to use XP only on it. Will I run into loads of driver issues, or does hardware (printers, scanners, webcams etc.) generally ruin fine on them?

    Any advise appreciated.

Considering the built-in iSight will be wasted...
And it only has 1 button under Windows last I recall (no CTRL-click)...

i bought my macbook pro on release purely for organising and editing my music, photos and movies.. all in osx..
but lately, after installing xp i'm finding i'm using windows more than osx.. for playing poker, games and running office etc, ya can't fault it.. runs exactly as any other win-intel laptop..
you lose about a half hour in battery life but that's about it..

your not getting great value, but hey.. they're sexy! go for it..

I seem to be using Windows more also. One tip i will say is to increase the partition when you setup bootcamp, as the default is 5gb for windows which is very small.

This is easily rectified using freeware like apple mouse utility.Simply put it in your windows startup folder and now you have ctrl click working as right click.

Overall Bootcamp kicks ass.I use Mac for browsing and downloading and Windows for Poker

Cheers guys. If it wasn't for needing to run poker programs the mac would be a no brainer. Think I'll go with one all the same, when variance allows:rolleyes:

One question on this (I'm thinking of getting a MacBook Pro: is data available on OSX also available through Windows and vice versa?

Mainly, I think I'd be using the Mac for graphic design, possibly video, audio, word processing (work), web stuff, some games and entertainment, nerding it up on MSN and Skype.

Although, when Windows Vista comes out, I might switch over completely.

I'm buying a MacBook Pro on the basis of liking OSX (mostly) and build - any review I've read seems to say that it's light and durable if you're lugging it around with you and processing power versus size/profile is very good. But you sacrifice on battery life.

I don't play poker, though, maybe I should to make moolah.

Yes and no. Can't find the exact details - they're somewhere on the web! - but you will have seperate partitions for each OS. think one os can read the other but not write and the other can read/write both. but you can get 3rd party software which will allow both to r/w both so its not a problem.

    macdrive..
great piece of software that makes everything fully accessable and writable through each partition..
