Saving passwords

Each time I log onto Internet I have to manually enter my passwords of mail accounts. I want these to be automatically saved and tick in the little boxes in yahoo and gmail to do this, but I still have to keep entering manually.
What can I change in my settings to prevent this from happening?

You need to accept cookies. What browser are you using?

Click Tools->Options->Privacy and then the Cookies tab, tick the box beside "Allow sites to set cookies".

I have checked this and it's ok, but there is still no change! Now, I'm really confused.

Don't do this as it will allow all sites to set cookies which is not good for security. Instead Tools > Options > Privacy > Exceptions and enter in gmail.com and yahoo.com.

This may be because you have previously instructed Firefox to never remember the password for these specific sites. Goto Tools > Options > Passwords > View Saved Passwords > Passwords Never Saved. Delete any saved passwords you have set for gmail.com and yahoo.com and start over to see if that makes a difference.

Its fine as you can just set FF to clear the private data on exit, problem solved.

Yes but then you can't use the 'Stay logged in' option on sites you frequent like boards.ie or vodafone.ie etc for webtext.
