I was in Excalibur for one night with family and it did the job.MGM is right opposite Excalibur and we walked around to MGM to see the lions, they looked a bit doped up:) . Its amazing how long that strip is when you walk down it especially in the humidity. I think Aladdin was a good bit down. They all are impressive around that part to be honest.

    Enjoy your trip.

We stayed in THEhotel (part of Mandalay Bay) and loved it, but having said that the one place that really looked great when we went in was the Hard Rock Hotel, I'd definitely give that place a go next time.

I stayed in the Excaliber too, went into the MGM it looks like it has a good club scene.

Passed by the Aladin it's a cool looking place and aparently has really good food.

There probably all more or less the same just with different themes.

Stayed in the Venician, I got it in priceline. It is the only 5 star on the strip so you are sure to get it. Great rooms, each room is a suite. Got it for $130 including taxes per night with a $25 on the slots.

www.tripadvisor.co.uk will give you info on all the hotels.

Enjoy the trip. How are you flying and with who.

I'm going to Vegas in 2 weeks and I'll be staying in both, I think I'm going to enjoy the Aladdin more, based on what I've read and heard.

Hopefully wont burst ur bubble but found out last week that their is major renovations going on at the Aladdin, a lot of unhappy campers on tripadvisor. Seems half the casino is gone and the reservations is down in the basement etc. Might be worth checking out although most people said noise wasnt a problem. Maybe thats why i was getting a cheap deal on it!

Stayed in the MGM before and loved it, but wanted to try something different this time, might end up going back there. Going for a few days in New York at both ends of the holiday so flying with continental and then getting domestic flights. American Airlines seem to cheap to fly there, if i was going direct i would go with them, long flight tho.

I'm staying for 5 nights in the MGM and 2 in the Aladdin, so hopefully the noise and renovations won't bother me too much, will check out some recent reviews on tripadvisor though.

I just got back from Vegas today, I stayed in the MGM for 5 nights and in the Aladdin for 2 and they were both great, couldn't find fault with either. I preferred the Aladdin slightly, due to it being smaller than MGM and also I really like the North African theme throughout the hotel.

Being the biggest hotel in the world, it can take ages to get anywhere within the MGM and sometimes the crowds are be a bit overwhelming, especially in the lobby and elevator area. Otherwise it was great though, the room was really big and clean and there are loads of bars and restaurants to choose from inside the hotel, as well as in nearby hotels. As I was on a work trip I didn't get a chance to visit the pool but it looked great! The staff were really helpful and I really couldn't find any fault with the hotel whatsoever, enjoy your stay there!

While I was checking in, I heard drilling somewhere in that area but I didn't hear or see anything else for the rest of the weekend.
