    Hey all,

I am new to the Xbox experience and was told by many a friend that they are a very good console. So I am thinking of getting one. I don't know much about the Xbox, but I am thinking of getting the 360 and am just looking for a bit of advice. These are the things that I want on my 360:
    • Wireless Contoller
    • Play And Charge Kit
    • Wired Headset
    • Wireless Network Adaptor
    • Hard Drive (20gb)

So anyway, today I went into Gamestop and asked the girl behind the counter about them. She didn't really know much about them tbh. So I am going to ask a few questions, can I put music on the 360 and listen to it whilst playing a game? With the list above which would I console would I be handiest going for? What games would you recommend for me to get?

yes you can stream music from an ipod. the premium console is what you are looking for. try xtravision they are doing a good deal at the minute where you get the premium console,pgr3 , fifa world cup and a football and faceplate for €460. i got one 2 weeks ago and it is brilliant

Ok I'll pop into xtravision. I am trying to get a part time job to save up for it and a few other things. Do you think the offer in xtravision will be on for much longer. I have played PGR3 and Fifa on it already. I probablly like Fifa much better. Any other advice is welcome.

im not sure how long the offer is going to be run for.
GRAW and battlefield2 seem to be good games and i have heard good things about table tennis

One more question, what is xbox live??? Is it free?

Get the premium kit and then the only extras you'll need, other than games, is the wireless adapter and the play and charge kit. When you get it online you'll then get a free month of gold membership on xbox live before you'll need another 50yoyo's (?) for the 12 month subscription.

Why don't you get an Asian 360(the Asian 360 is basically a Japanese 360 but with a UK style power supply), uses the same power as here can play all jap games and most games are released on it before here or the US. The whole bundle would cost aprrox €337 (€400 when postage included) (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-bq-49-en-70-1909.html + http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-er-49-en-70-190d.html)
The games are alot cheaper too eg Prey approx €32 (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dw-49-en-15-prey-70-1gxl.html)

    just a suggestion

    [*]Play And Charge Kit

I wouldn't bother with this. I got 4 rechargable batterys and a charger from argos for a tenner whereas the play and charge was 19.99 !

Asian 360's wont play most of the japanese games so you're better off getting a European one.

And having a non local console then denies you the oportunity to just go and impulse buy an expensive copy of a game just becasue you need it now. If I can handle the wait though then play asia is good for saving a couple of quid though.

Yes they will they are essentially Japanese xbox 360's but with a 220v power supply

If you need it now by Irish release dates that probably means you could have had it months ago cheaper if you import

No they're not. That's why there is an asian and a japanese version of the 360. I've already gone to great lengths to find out about this and this is what I've been told.

    http://forum.lik-sang.com/showthread.php?t=14695
ive read on wiki's region compatibility list that most ntsc/j asia games can be played on a japanese 360 but not many japanese games can be played on the asian 360.
I would get a Japanese 360. It has the same power outage as the US 360 and it plays all Asian games while Asian 360's don't plays some Japanese games.
Yeah get a Japanese Xbox 360. There are a few Japanese Xbox 360 games that do not work on an Asian 360, but all Asian games work on a Japanese Xbox 360.

Release dates of asian versions are later than american and European release dates. Sometimes by a few days others by a couple of weeks.

Im sorry but you are wrong. Like Kensutz says the asian 360 is different. it will not play all Japanese games!

As I am also looking at importing 1, also i would not get it from play asia as you will get done by customs. If you do want to import one get it from yesasia.com as from what i heard they have a distribution centre in germany which is where they ship it from to avoid that problem!
    wikipedia wrote:
Japan and Asia seem to be two distinct regions. Where a title from Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea) seems to always work in a Japanese console, the reverse is not always true, e.g. Shin Sangoku Musou 4 Special (Dynasty Warriors 5 Special) & Final Fantasy XI beta. Another example being Call of Duty 2 (NTSC/U). So, the list below mainly deals with games released in Japan being compatible with NTSC/J (Asia), NTSC/U or PAL XBOX360 except specified.

Good Information about it here wikipedia.org

Only for playing already ripped mp3's. You cannot use a usb drive for game saves or any marketplace downloads.
