    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here is using a 42" HD screen to play their Xbox 360?

If they are, are they happy with the the quality of it ? Whats the make and model of the TV?

I want to buy a 42" HD TV and hook my XBox 360 up to it, but I am afraid that the games will not play correctly i.e they will be streaking.

I have seen this with a 32" TV with a PS2 hooked up to it.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Michael

I'm using mine on a Samsung PS42C7HDX, just have it 2 weeks and I'm very happy.

It displays 1920 x 1080i in all its glory through the component connections. Only downside is the resolution through the VGA imput, just 1024 x 768.

Cost me €1999 from Dixons. Worth every cent :D

does that set have two HDMI ports at the rear? as i'm looking into getting a 42inch plasma for the front room but want to future proof it for when i get sky-hd when it comes down in price.

Well , when I connect the XB360 to it and set it to 1080i and then press the info button on the tv remote it tells me the display is 1920x1080i. When playing GRAW in 1080i it looks fantastic with no jaggy's.

The only let down is PGR3 because its not real HD everything looks a bit low res.

Just the one HDMI port, I haven't seen any with 2 to be honest.

    Thanks for that KTRIC,

Do Dixons deliver ? Did you get a bracket to mount it to the wall, and if so, how much was it ?

€25 for delivery and by Jebus will you need it, its one heavy f*cker ;)

I personally didn't wall mount mine, but I've seen them wall mounted and they look pretty sweet. Dixons might be able to get you the Samsung braket, make sure you get that and not a cheap alternative.

Thats great. Is it easy to tune in channels. I have just read that it comes without an auto install feature ?

I have mine connected to Sky Digital, so I didn't tune in anything. PM me your email address and I'll forward you the manual in PDF format, you can have a look through it and see what you think of the menu and settings.

Ktric I hate to tell ta this but the 'natural resolution of your TV is 786432 pixles, or 1024 x 768.

now I am not an expert but as I understand it.

Aside from gettin into the whole progressive and interlaced issue here, the 720p output would look better on your TV as it is closer to the natural res. of the TV, 1080i is also a naturally lower resolution then 720p as it is interlaced, but you TV is currently 'up-scaling' your image to the 1080i.

don't take this the wrong way, I just thought you would like to know that the performance would be better in 720p

It's a very nice TV anyway and I hope you get many years of joy out of it.
