ive had two pentax optio p+s. both tiny. both good, i've had an optio s and an s5i. the s has quicker and more accurate auto focus. Newer one is a bit slower.

My *ist (film) goes with me everywhere. Is it programmed to self destruct soon? ;)

On rare occasions I take it out for some practice with a "real" camera (although I have a couple of cameras which don't have light meters).

*ist DS user here, with P-DA 16-45mm, P-DA 21mm, and Sigma 70-200 f2.8EX as main lenses. Have thought about going for a K10D, but I'm in no hurry and might wait for the next step up. I also have an old MZ-50 that got me in to the Pentax scene.

I've been very disappointed by Pentax support here in Ireland, and have bought all the pricey items elsewhere. Bought the DS from Jacobs in the UK because of the huge price difference. (Far more than the €100 difference that one retailer talks about in another thread - I could live with that, but the €300+ difference more than covered the trip to London!)

A couple of months ago one Dublin retailer told me that they don't carry Pentax because of the sales & support situation, which is odd - the reports on e.g. DPReview are generally good. I had to order a couple of DS parts from the UK after I damaged mine, which was inexpensive and quick. Now I'm seeing the Samsung GX10 in shops - a K10D with a new name and some cosmetic changes.

I'd say the biggest annoyance with being a Pentax owner is the lack of "push" behind their cameras. They don't spend huge amounts on junkets for the camera press, so they get treated as a minor player. Even on this forums I see people talking as if there were only two serious DSLR makers, Nikon & Canon, and if you try and correct that impression you're a "Fanboi" or however the kids spell that these days...

    MZ-6 and P30 here. 28-70/4 and 50/2. And few other non-Pentax lenses.

K100d shooter here. Lovely camera though I wouldn't mind a few more megapixels. The in body stabilisation is fantastic in low light. I've had two of the slimline Optio S series as well (s4i and s5). Surprisingly good image quality for their tiny size.
