I generally go to www.dublinairport.com and check arrivals/departures from that country to see if they have a local airline that flies to Dublin. Then I compare prices with that airline so I'm not restricted to just flying with Ryanair/Aer Lingus.

If that doesn't work, then c'est la vie, it's hard getting cheap flights at a week's notice.

I'd imagine, at this late stage, that's the best price you will get. Prague is a pretty popular destination.

Try www.skyscanner.net. Problem is July seems to be a peak period, only towards the end of August does it seem to start to get cheaper. You might be able to get a cheaper fare from somewhere else, like London and then just get a cheapo RyanAir flight to there.

250 return to Prague next week doesn't sound too bad.

no but i emailed the main train authorites in Germany and i was assured that ticket avaliability wouldn't be a problem. and get this...its cheaper to buy a one way ticket to prague....then when im leaving buy a one way ticket out of prague than it is to buy a retuen ticket in the first place???!!!! madness!

Tickets are never a problem ... just fill the automated ticket machine with Euros! Seats might be a problem, though, depending on time of travel. But you should be OK in any case.

The "madness" regarding the tickets is easily explained - in Germany you pay German prices/taxes/duties, in Prague local Czech prices. Which are considerably lower than international prices (example: booking a hotel in Lodz was € 200 from Germany, actual rate in hotel the equivalent of € 90).

Buy a 3 or 5 day public transport pass at the desk in Prague airport, unlimited travel on buses, metro and trams and it's dead cheap. This ticket will also get you from the airport to city centre (bus then metro.) Public transport is excellent. Some very dodgy looking taxi operators hanging around the airport.

If you pay more than 50 koruny (about €1.60) for a large beer you're being well and truly ripped off! Some places are nearly as expensive as here, especially the ones targeting English tourists (the ones with signs in German are usually cheaper!)

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

i presume you're flying into berlin, in which case the train is over 4 hours :)
