Failing logic boards have been around for a while in Apple iirc. When I got my first iMac about 7 years ago it went back after 5 months for a faulty logic board.

Wouldn't Intel be in charge of logic boards? :p

Yep. Apple do not design or make their own logic boards anymore, they outsource that job to Intel. Maybe it was a mistake? I mean, Intel sucks, right? ;)

I don't like Intel's PR people ever since they dissed the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child)-project because AMD got picked over them.
And then they said they'd create a $400 laptop for 3rd-world teachers as "we believe it's better for those communities than $100 laptops for kids".

    Still, they also made Core2Duo...
