Shooting at my local club. One of my buddies shows up with his M-16 and the 22 long rifle conversion. Not an AR-15 this one was the real deal. It did get pretty dirty from time to time, he cleaned it at least twice at the range. Listening to the metal gong ringing like a bell (at 75 yards) was pretty neat.
The big kick was watching my 14 year old son shooting full auto. I think he liked it.
Hope to have one myself some day, in the far future.
    I'm about 6 to 8 thousand $ short.

i have shot an ar-15 in Virginia myself.

In Virginia beach i think, the guy at the range, Joe, was one of the nicest guys i met over there.

We rented out two handguns, taurus 9mm and a glock .45. Half way through he came out with the ar-15 and asked did anyone want a go. It was like gun porn for me. One of the girls with us had a go and she shot the roof.

I didnt say it was funny, but if you can't laugh about it...........

I live in the north, as regular posters on here will know, and seen a hell of a lot 'first hand' as it were, so I think if I want to take a step back and poke a humourous remark at our country's 'illustrious' history, I believe I've earned the right.

    Rant over.

A little more than 'grazed', I'm afraid :(

From the 'horse's mouth', so to speak (Burns & Moley Sinn Fein Cumann, South Armagh)-
    1992
28 August: A member of the Light Infantry was fatally wounded with a .50 calibre rifle in the Square, Crossmaglen.

    1993
17 July: A member of the Duke of Edinburg's Royal Regiment was fatally wounded with a .50 calibre rifle on the Carran Rd, Crossmaglen.
2 November: A member of the RUC shot to death with a .50 calibre rifle in Crossmaglen. The British Army denied at the time that the soldier had been hit by a Barret Light 50 rifle at the time, but history has shown this to be a lie.
2 December: A member of the Royal Artillery was fatally wounded with a .50 calibre rifle in Victoria St, Keady.
30 December: A member of the Grenidier Guards was fatally wounded with a .50 calibre rifle outside Murtagh's Bar, Crossmaglen.

    1997
12 February: Lance Bombadier Stephen Restorick of the Royal Horse Artillery was fatally wounded with a .50 calibre Barret 90 rifle on the Green Rd, Bessbrook. At this time, he is the last member of the British Army to have been killed in Ireland by the IRA.

Back on track, well that is what the first few posters were on about it's hard to tell what the track is.

If I was in america and could shoot ANY gun I could it would HAVE to be the P-90 no question, well.....

Question: I was looking at what gun to buy in the future and saw a site on the interweb set in America. I HAD to check if they had P-90s and they did, they had all full-auto guns including a minigun, but they wouldn't sell them to anyone but Class 3 and NFA, I took this to mean full auto was illegal in america, even thought it went against everything i knew about american gun laws (not much, just the bear arms bit). So I take it automatics are legal? Do you need a VERY special hard to get license? Lastly what's Class 3?

Sheesh that's a lot of questions maybe i should start a forum "Whupass's Questions" ha!

Machine guns (and other 'destructive devices) are perfectly legal in many places in the US, but they are, by any standard, pretty heavily regulated.
Do a bit of research on the National Firearms Act to get a feel for what's required to get hold of one.
Here's something to be going on with- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Act

Here's are FAQ that cover most of the points, including defining 'Class 3'-

I've coverd this a couple of times here.
Depending on wether you live in a Class three state[Class three dealers are so designated by Beruau of Alcohol Tabacco And Firearms as those dealers federally and State liscensed to sell, full auto weapons, destructive devices,Silencers, sawn off shotguns, curios and relics and any other weapons, parts for any of the above mentioned categerories. Or to manufacture any of the above weapons. There are somthing like 30 plus States that allow a civillian to own a Class three weapon.
The National Firearms Act 1932 ,is the federally enacted law that controls the ownership, possesion, and transfer of the above mentioned categerories of firearms. So if you see on a web page "All NFA rules apply"that is what they are talking about.
Procedure to own a Class three.
Go and spend mega $$$ buying your whatever.Go to your local PD,Sheriffs dept, and get fingerprinted, and fill out application form for the Class 3 weapon transfer.PD/Sheriff conducts local rap sheet to see if you are bad boy/girl,this along with a $200 transfer fee gets sent to the FBI/ATF to conduct nationwide backround check and do the transfer work.Sit and wait, and wait and wait abit more.Takes appx 4 months to transfer ownership on Class three to come thru.Go to dealer with transfer paperwork, collect class three weapon, stop at bank for overdraft extension to buy ammo.Go shooting.
Very much a rich mans hobby.
