    This is a mans world
    This is a mans world
    But it would be nothing
Nothing without a woman to care

You see man made the cars
To take us over the world
    Man made the train
    To carry the heavy load
    Man made the electro lights
To take us out of the dark
Man made the bullet for the war
    Like noah made the ark
This is a mans mans, mans world
    But it would be nothing
Nothing without a woman to care

Does it mean Women are only here to keep men happy and for support so that men can carry on being the dominant superior !

I look at it this way: if there were to be a thread asking 'what was man's best invention' you'd get many many opinions and suggestions and agreements and disagreements and persuading and ridiculing and eventually you'd end up with about 10 suggestions that could all equal each other in terms of importance to humanity and their effects on the history of the world.

Now if I were to ask you what was a woman's best invention, on the other hand...

I nominate Lesbianism. Its a lot like War : Beautiful and exciting when you see it on Tv, quite harrowing when you see it for real.

I think its been all men so far. The women are probably stewing up in some corner somewhere.

*Aim for the balls* they chant quietly

Why the Femanists didn't castrate James Brown for that one is beyond me. It's so sexist, but I supose it's just such a classic we should let it go.

I always understood it to mean that what good are all those things or anything for that matter if you didn't have someone you loved and loved you to share it with.

No, but I think Chic got it right.
    Ah, freak out
    Le freak, c'est chic
    Freak out
    Ah, freak out
    Le freak, c'est chic
    Freak out

Have you heard about the new dance craze
Listen to us, I'm sure you'll be amazed
Big fun to be had by everyone
It's up to you, it surely can be done
Young and old are doing it, I'm told
Just one try, and you too will be sold
It's called Le Freak, they're doing it night and day
Allow us, we'll show you the way

    Ah, freak out
    Le freak, c'est chic
    Freak out

All that pressure got you down
Has your head spinning all around
Feel the rhythm, check the ride
Come on along and have a real good time
Like the days of stomping at the Savoy
Now we freak, oh what a joy
Just come on down, two fifty four
Find a spot out on the floor

    Ah, freak out
    Le freak, c'est chic
    Freak out

    Now freak

    I said freak

    Now freak

All that pressure got you down
Has your head spinning all around
Feel the rhythm, check the ride
Come on along and have a real good time
Like the days of stomping at the Savoy
Now we freak, oh what a joy
Just come on down, two fifty four
Find a spot out on the floor

    Ah, freak out
    Le freak, c'est chic
    Freak out
    Ah, freak out
    Le freak, c'est chic
    Freak out

    Everyone freak out....

    John

(It's late, I'm tired, I'm sure that seems more ammusing in my head)

FFS will you do your research and get the lyrics right :mad:

This is a man's world, this is a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl

You see, man made the cars to take us over the road
Man made the train to carry the heavy load
Man made electro light to take us out of the dark
Man made the boat for the water, like Noah made the ark

    This is a man's, man's, man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl

Man thinks about a little baby girls and a baby boys
Man makes then happy 'cause man makes them toys
And after man made everything, everything he can
You know that man makes money to buy from other man

    This is a man's world
But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing, not one little thing, without a woman or a girl

    He's lost in the wilderness
    He's lost in bitterness

    Okay, inventions by women....

Apgar tests, which evaluate a baby’s health upon birth (to make sure you weren't born a retard!) - Virginia Apgar 1952

Chocolate Chip Cookies - Ruth Wakefiend - 1930

Circular Saw - Tabitha Babbit 1812

    Dishwasher - Josephine Cochrain 1872

Electric Hot Water Heater - Ida Forbes 1917

Elevated Railway - Mary Walton 1881

Engine Muffler - El Dorado Jones 1917

    Globes - Ellen Fitz 1875

Ironing Board - Sarah Boone 1892

Kevlar, a steel-like fiber used in radial tires, crash helmets, and bulletproof vests - Stephanie Kwolek 1966

Life Raft - Maria Beaseley 1882

Medical syringe - Letitia geer 1899

Rotary Engine - Margaret Knight 1904

Windshield wiper - Mary Anderson 1903

Submarine lamp and telescope - Sarah Mather 1845

By the way, Pat Benetar also recorded a James Brown Song:

Paying the Cost to Be The Boss

You act like you to don't wanna listen,
    When I'm talking to you
You think you outta be my baby,
    Anything you wanna do

    You must be crazy, baby,
You just gotta be out of your mind
As long as payin' I'm the bills, woman,
I'm payin' the cost to be the boss

    I'll drink if I wanna,
And play a little poker too
Don't you say nothing to me,
As long as I'm taking care of you
As long as I'm working baby,
    And payin' all the bills
I don't want no mouth from you,
About the way I'm supposed to leave

    You must be crazy, woman,
You just gotta be out of your mind
As long as I'm footin' the bills,
I'm paying the cost to be the boss

    Now that you got me,
You act like you are a shame
You don't act like my woman,
    You just using my name

I tell you I'll gonna handle all the money,
And I don't wanna no back talk
'Cause if you don't like the way I'm doing,
Just pick up your things and walk

    You must be crazy baby,
You just gotta be out of your mind
As long as paying the bills,
I'm paying the cost to be the boss

Apgar tests, which evaluate a baby’s health upon birth (to make sure you weren't born a retard!) - Virginia Apgar 1952 spot on

Chocolate Chip Cookies - Ruth Wakefiend - 1930 is this the class of invention...wow

Circular Saw - Tabitha Babbit 1812 she sure did

Dishwasher - Josephine Cochrain 1872 or Joel Houghton 1850

Electric Hot Water Heater - Ida Forbes 1917 ah but who invented the electric

Elevated Railway - Mary Walton 1881 would that be a railway up a hill..sigh..

Engine Muffler - El Dorado Jones 1917 could be true, but cant fine anything on the web.

Globes - Ellen Fitz 1875 what the f... is this about.

Ironing Board - Sarah Boone 1892 whats an "Ironing Board"

Kevlar, a steel-like fiber used in radial tires, crash helmets, and bulletproof vests - Stephanie Kwolek 1966 very true, clever woman

Life Raft - Maria Beaseley 1882

Medical syringe - Letitia geer 1899 no that would be Charles Gabriel Pravaz and Alexander Wood 1853 or even or Iraqi/Egyptian surgeon Ammar ibn 'Ali al-Mawsili' technically invented the first such syringe in the 9th century

Rotary Engine - Margaret Knight 1904 or mabye was it Stephen Balzer before 1899

Windshield wiper - Mary Anderson 1903 that would have been 1905 bu ya clever woman

Submarine lamp and telescope - Sarah Mather 1845 but usually credit for assembling the first telescope is given to an unknown Dutch spectacle maker in about 1608. now whats a Submarine lamp head light for a sub...never really took off did they
