I'm trying to upgrade a friend's (old-ish) PC to SP2. It's a Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo 400. I can only update it using Safe Mode but when it restarts SP2 has knocked off the driver for the graphics chip (onboard Intel 82810E).
I've tried downloading drivers but the PC refuses to use them saying that they are too old and the one on the machine is newer; but it won't let me use it!
I'm stuck in 4 bit graphics mode

Anyone any ideas to help? thanks

Did SP2 update the machine at all then and how did you manage to install it in safe mode? Try removing the drivers in safe mode and trying to let pick up the card again.

Ya SP2 has installed, it will let you use safe mode but gives a warning that you shoud use 'normal' mode to install it preferably. I'll give your suggestion a go later, thanks Ruu
