Vegas must have some amount of rooms is the WSOP is on and you can still get a late cheap room.

the wsop is not a big deal for vegas in terms of increased numbers. conventions occur throughout the year that attract many times greater the numbers that the wsop.

mid week the prices are dirt cheap in places like the sahara and strat on the very north tip of the strip tho the strat add a 5$ a night resort fee which u have no option but to pay.

www.tripres.com is a good place to look and get an idea. we booked the strat for 31$ a night about a month ago, going up to $60 on fri and sat

I'm in the Imperial Palace which is the cheapest on the main strip afaik. Ceasers across the road, harrahs on the right, flamingo on the left and so on. Great location but not the classiest joint. One of the older casinos here.
If you are prepared to spend $400 for 3 nights you could probably go for something a little better. Prices are low Sunday to Thursday and a little more for Friday and Sat. Check the websites for individual casinos. I found the prices to be the cheapest on specific sites unless you go for a deal on vegas.com or elsewhere.
