    Hi,

Im off to Monte Carlo Sunday. Im hoping to get some poker in there :D

Just wondering if anyone who may have visited it can give any advice about where to play, dress codes etc. I was in Vegas earlier this year and am expecting a totally different ball game, Would this be reasonable to expect ?

    Thanks in advance...
    'Ceptor.

    Never been....
The website for the casino has no mention of Poker...I know the EPT stops there....
Has anyone visited Monte Carlo recently????

No idea, but unless I am very wrong, any poker that you may get to play there will be high stakes (well by irish casino standards anyhow) probably 5-10 minimum.

I would also assume that since everyone has money coming out all their orifices that dress code would be 'rich'.

From v limited experience, I would sum up the difference between Vegas and Monte Carlo thus: Vegas is entertainment, Monte Carlo is business.

In the Monte Carlo Casino (THE casino), minimum bets at BlackJack are €25, so I don't know if that gives you a guide. If you want to go into the Salons Privés within the casino, you're into jacket and tie land, and god knows what the stakes are.

There are other places to go - there was a casino-type place just across the road from the main one where stakes seemed a little lower, or you could go to somewhere like Beaulieu-Sur-Mer along the coast, where things were a lot more down to earth.

Sorry I don't have specific poker info, but it's a couple of years ago, and I wasn't playing at the time. :(
