My top 3 loves of cycling are:

    1) Being overtaken by a 40ft truck at 100kph and the drag effect it has

2)Getting to the top of that gut/leg killing hill/mountain and free riding down the other side

    3) A mega strong wind to my back

    My Hates:

    1) That truck driven the opposite way and makin my life harder

2)Gettin to the top and finding out that there is no downside just a level road

3)Been overtaken by my arch enemy*

    * As explained in other thread i cycle bog standard mountain bike....well ms. enemy above cycles cool road bike and has huge leg muscles and seems to wait till i am out to get on the road and overtake me...........Well i swear that by the end of summer she will no longer over take me (even if i have to push her off:D ) and that by the end of September i will overtake her....

My top five loves have got be:

    1. Cycling past cars in a traffic jam

    2. The downhill leg to an uphill cycle

    3. Crossing the city centre quicker on a bike than in a car

    4. Cycling in fine weather like we're having today, and the heightened sense of enjoyment you get from it.

    last but not least...

    5. The freedom you have to go wherever you want as soon as you hop on that saddle

    My top five hates:

    1. Wind working against me

    2. Sweating profusely when I'm cycling to / from work

    3. The pure ignorance of car drivers always thinking they have the right of way.

    4. Forgetting my rain gear...again

    5. Lack of proper cycle lanes, even the one's we are given are below standard.

    My top five hates:

    1 Getting punctures
2 Having to walk home because I forgot my repair kit
3 Breaking a part on my bike while repairing the above-mentioned puncture
    4 Losing my cycle computer
5 Traffic that overtakes too close

All of which happened to me on Monday on the way home from the gym!

I'm on my 4th CatEye Mity 8 because I frequently unclipped the computer so as not to ruin my recorded average speed when I was walking for a few metres. Silly. Especially at e30 a go.
One time I heard it fall off, pulled over and was waiting for cars to pass to get it - and someone drove over it :(

my first time up wicklow gap I got past the straight section and then just a short bit to the crest.
at the crest I saw the rest of it curving away in the distance , so disappointing to realise I was only about 1/3 the way up. :(

    Road
Hate being dropped by all the real roadies on the ups.
Like passing them all on the downs:D

    Off-road
    Love - almost everything.
    Dislike
-travelling distance to good trails in Munster
-lack of mountain bikers in Munster, you can't really go out on your own - could be a long time before someone finds you if something goes wrong!
