Have you seen Joebhoy1916's thread on Hezbollah t-shirts?

That's a fine example of trolling.

Some may also refer to it as Flame Bait.

Basically it's posting something bound to offend in the knowledge it will start a big argument or "Flame War".

There a one or two, who shall remain nameless, who make it their mission to follow certain posters about the forums, quoting their posts and insulting either the post content, or the poster.
These trolls are a new breed, they are cyber bullies, or post stalkers!

One resource I look to when I see a phrase I don't recognise in a forum is the Hacker Dictionary, pretty much has everything you'd need to know.

    Ahhh.

I don't have one, so was never concerned with how it might look.

    Thank you!

Some may also refer to it as Flame Bait.

Basically it's posting something bound to offend in the knowledge it will start a big argument or "Flame War".

See also any thread which mentions a single member of a minority group in a negative light. It will quickly descend into a war of words between people who have had a negative experience vs people who havent left the house in 35 years. Because they have no real response to give they will usually cry "racist" at posters who have not said a single racist thing, and will deliberately skip questions directed at them by the poster if they are unable to provide a relevant answer (regarding a post in a previous thread where it was claimed foreigners from some countries have a right to be rude to us as its how its done in their native culture, I never got an answer to my question as to why it wouldnt be acceptable for a person from the deep south of the US to generally act like a racist KKK redneck, seeing as its part of their culture. I was dying to hear that one)

Drug threads also descend into this kind of behaviour, with people making all sorts of wild claims about the medicinal benefits of illegal drugs. Alcohol users are apparently utterly evil scum (in spite of the fact most stoners I know are heavy social drinkers or, in some cases, alcoholics). I smoke constantly, I do the other sh1t occasionally, but lord I know it isnt good for me.

Christ, boards has really reached new levels of retardation in 2006. Ive been readin these forums for years, and until about 9 months ago the worst you would see were people lining up to say that McDonalds food is vile. I think our freezing winter gone and humid sticky summer of now is affecting the mindset of some here.
