mac g4 hard drive upgrade

    can i put any hard drive into a mac g4? it has a 10 gig hard drive and want to buy another hard drive

    most drives will be fine. What model of Mac is it? It may have a 136GB limit whereby it wont address capacities above that. Its really only the quicksilver and later that support this.

    Not to worry though, if you have an older G4, you can use this for drives bigger than 136GB:

    Its an SATA controller though.

    I have a 60GB in an old G3 B&W so that capacity will be fine.

    Use CarbonCloner (for OSX) or Lacie Silverkeeper (For OS9) to clone your old HD to the new one.
