How often does a timing belt need to be done on a 97 Primera.

Petrol models never because they have a chain, diesel models every 60k or so.

The guy i may be buying it off says it was done at 120k!
Its a 1.6 petrol. Are you sure about this alias no.9?

Alias is right, nobelt, timing chain only on petrols. You buying off a garage?

120k for a Nissan timing chain seem very very low. Mine is still going strong at 145K:)

As above, unless of course the engine has not been maintained, has run out of oil and the chain has been running dry, but that usually means new engine.
So chain is for the life of the engine which usually is 400k+, usually outlasts all other components!

HUH? Are you saying the nissan engine should do 400k or just the chain?

From what year Primeras are you talking about, BTW?

As in when they first have chains on the petrols...
