had unexpected interview and aptitude test today for job. might have a medical and drug test for it over the next few days. a bit worried as i had the amount of 1 joint in a yoghurt 9 days ago. just wondering if i'd be clear or does anyone know of how i could pass the test? have heard that cranberry juice and vitamin c helps. any advice/help would be appreciated.

I'm not into drugs, but know a medical researcher who studies their effects. "Mary Jane" is detectable in your system for at least 30 days (perhaps longer), according to him, depending upon the amount consumed and the test used.

IMO I doubt that cranberry juice or vit C would help, or other such home remedies will eliminate the effects in your system.

Look. If the potential employer has a policy of no drug use you should not take the test or the job. To do so successfully would be dishonest. But maybe they are concerned with frequency or quantity or type and a joint is not a problem. I think, though, if they are testing for drugs they must be offering a sensitive position that would be impaired by them. Forklift driver for example. Would you want to work in a warehouse where the forklift is driven by a stonie? Didn't think so.

Drug test or blood test? Cannabis does remain in your system for quite some time but they have to test your blood for it specifically. Drink f**kloads of water till your piss looks like ballygowan. Then hit the apple juice big time.

If someone had a glass of wine 9 days ago, would that make them an alcho?

Depends on what type of test it is.

    Cannabis (single use)
    Urine: 2 to 3 days
    Hair: up to 90 days
    Blood: 24 hours

    Cannabis (habitual use)
    Urine: up to 30 days
    Hair: up to 90 days
    Blood: 2 days

As long as the driver isnt intoxicated during work, who cares what they do in their own time? You wouldnt expect a driver who enjoys a few pints at the weekend to turn up drunk on a Tuesday morning would you?

OP, I'd think hard about working for a company who practices such invasive policy. What type of work is it?

    Don't believe Wikipedia, it's incorrect.

Cannibas sticks to the fat cells in your body and is released gradually into the blood stream to a period of up to six weeks. There's no way to really get round it apart from a lot of execise about 2 weeks before hand then stopping a day or two before the actual exam. That may burn out a lot of it but i'd say it will still be detectable.

Look, unless it's for some medical group (which will do a drugs test) the physical involves a pee test but they don't check for drugs. Just to see if you have any diseases. Also, when I had mine for the work i'm currently in the doctor wasn't allowed to tell the company anything about my medical details apart from "he's fit to work".

    G'luck with the job m8.

pour wiskey in your sample and, like michelle de bruin, claim that you like a wee :D nip of the stuff every now and then.

well the chances are that many already work with "stonies". the drug is prevalent in our society. maybe you need to understand there is a dissimilarity between a habitual and a casual smoker in much the same way there is a marked difference between a casual drinker and someone with an alcohol problem.

It really depends on how mush you use, right you had some 9 days ago, if you hadn't any for a while before that you should be ok. But there are a lot of varibles there. Also not all medicals involve a drug screen, the urine sample may also be used for blood sugar and the like. Then if they are testing for drugs, it depends on whether it go to a lab for testing and what they want it too be tested for, or whether a drug screen card which they dip in the sample is used. A lot of these in medical use don't test for cannabis, then again some do.

Another factor you many not have considered? Are you around friends who smoke Mary Jane? Even though you may not be smoking it (but rarely), you could be inhaling their secondary smoke and this could show up, depending upon your exposure and the type of drug test.

A friend told me to check out erowid.org (very reliable resource) and I found this:

Cannabis is detectable in the blood for approximately 2-3 days after use in an infrequent user. It is standardly detectable in Urine for 48-72 hours after single use.

I am happy :-) Will still be a bit cautious though.

Most medicals I have done only take a urine sample and they only test this for diabetes and nothing else.

Had to do amedical for my last job, had been there nearly a year but they needed it to update their files, decided not to lie to doctor so told her I had used recreational drugs in the past but not now (well a half-truth). Got out of urine test by saying I simply couldn't go :)

they will not test your blood or urine for cannibus, they search for traces of other drugs which share a common proprty (cant remember what it is). To search for a specific drug they have to do a detailed test. This is what a Doc told my mate who had to had to get tested for a job
