    $50 2nd Chance Tourney online.

Its Bubble time and we are 5 handed. 11 left and 10 get paid.

Villan bootboy is a tricky and solid customer. I've been his SB for a good while now and if he has any decent pair or paint he snaps off steals from the cut-off and button with strong re-raises or the odd stop-n-go move. But with that he's very capable of folding junk pre-flop and knows when he's beat on the flop.

We've tangled in the blinds once before and he got the better of me. I haven't button-raised in a few orbits as I'd no hands to do so. In that time claretanblue hasn't played a hand and has folded his blinds to any raise. He's tighty mctight and has typed in the chat box that he cant get a hand. Its folded around to me and I take a stab at his BB as I know he wants to fold into the money.

    ** $6,000 GTD $50 Second Chance[938999]:Table 3 [Multi Table Hold 'em] ( 1200.00|2400.00 No Limit - MTT) Real Money

    - CambsWolf sitting in seat 1 with $6485.00
    - TVHDK sitting in seat 5 with $25770.00
    - Lex994 sitting in seat 8 with $34352.50 [Dealer]
    - bootboy sitting in seat 9 with $17617.00
    - claretanblue sitting in seat 10 with $8004.00

bootboy posted the small blind - $600.00
claretanblue posted the big blind - $1200.00

** Dealing card to Lex994: Queen of Spades, 7 of Spades
    CambsWolf folded
    TVHDK folded
    Lex994 raised - $3500.00
    bootboy raised - $5800.00
    claretanblue folded
    Lex994 called - $5800.00

** Dealing the flop: Queen of Clubs, 2 of Spades, King of Spades
    bootboy checked
    Lex994 bet - $4800.00
    bootboy went all-in - $12417.00
    Lex994 ???

Bootboy wakes up and raises my bet PF. For some reason I stubbornly call and we see a flop. I have no hand but I catch middle pair and a flush draw.

He check-raises my stab at the pot and now I'm in a quandary! When he checks the flop I put him on a medium pair, but with this crai I'm fairly sure he's woken up with a big hand... AA, QQ, AK. I couldnt have played this hand any worse and now I've gotten myself in a world of pain.

I couldnt have wrangled myself into a worse situation and I know I'm behind! What I want to know is...at this stage should I drop this junk or have I priced myself in to call??

There is $12,800 in the pot on the flop. Plus my $4,800 flop bet = $17,600.
It's costing me roughly $8,000 to call. To I take my medicine and get out of here given the fact that I know I'm behind? Or is the only way out of this hole to keep digging and take 2:1 odds?

I think I'll be left with about $16k if I call and lose. If I win I'll have over $50k, one fifth of the chips in play.

i think you have priced yourself into a call, he may well be doing with with a bluff becasue realisitially you have more folding equity than anyone else at the table. id still call as even with AK, AQ,AA , you have 9 flush outs and 3 sevens against a pair. about 48% so its a call, and you have chips to play with if you lose.

Yip, it's a call for me too, u r too far in, u have the odds for ur flush draw and hitting a Q or 7 may also be an out for u . Also though it doesn't look likely I agree there is a small chance that u r not actually behind. I think with odds of over 2 to 1 here u have too many reasons to call.

an obvious call, your 2/1 to make your flush so your priced in on that alone
plus the other three 7's and the other two queens are possibly outs as well

Am I missing something here, or is the pot not $30,017, including the villains bet? At $7,617 to call that's more like 4/1 than 2/1.

    Is this a satellite??

EDIT: Although it doesn't really matter either way, it's a call, and MGrah is correct you're actually getting about 4:1

Correct. getting even better odds than I thought!

    Ste, it's a new-ish tourney on Ladbrokes called a 2nd chance. One re-buy only, with no add-ons.

    yep its 4/1...call

Ah, I see, there were just some second chance satellites knocking around lately, and thought it might have been one of them, not to worry, what did he have anyway, I get the feeling it's either KQ, QQ or KK??

EDIT: or AK, AQ, blah blah blah, there's loads of hands he could do this with, but I have a feeling you sucked out on him?? ;)

I'd usually get it all in on that flop on level 1.

yea, its a nice little tourney. I called and missed. He had AA.
Ended up 2nd but only because had enough chips back to carry on (and by playing properly!!).
Hate getting involved in these dodgy situations at the business end.

It's worded kinda awkwardly. When it says Villian raise 5,800 it means he raises it to that level. And when it says Lex called 5,800, he called the remainder.
It doesn't make sense I know but look at the starting stacks villian didn't have enough to make a 5800 raise on tp of 3500 as well as 12000+
    confusing

Errr... I'd cheer when I see the flop and get my chips in quicker than he can click raise. Well, maybe not cheer... but I'd certainly be getting it all in on that flop now that there's a pot to play for.
