Nat Geo in English with subtitles. too.

They do this from time to time. Lat time something to do with changing encryption system.

The Dutch have an annual payment FTV card scheme as well as more expensive pay TV. So the NED1..3 are normally encrypted, but almost fee if you have a Dutch social Security number.

Like UK FTV cards, the Dutch FTV cards are easily enough obtained. But unlike Sky, they are renewed annually. I'm sure RTE would like such a scheme tied to TV licence given high non-payment rate. One of the original Irish DTT ideas was the viewing card for free channels would be disabled if you defaulted on TV licence.

Oddly the BBC don't like that idea, which is one reason they had for leaving the Sky Encryption.

Canal Digitaal has been having serious encryption problems for over a week now, the RTL4 transponder is FTA half the time I look at it it seems.

NED2 is likely to go permanently properly FTA on satellite its been alleged.

The Dutch "FTV card" is more a very very basic satellite subscription, theres a few channels over and above the terrestrials included with it. The actual FTV-tied-to-licence idea is what the Swiss have, you pay a Swiss TV licence (and if you live abroad, prove you're a Swiss citizen) and get a card that gets all six stations in absolutely amazing picture quality and with original audio sound tracks.
