found one of these in the shop new still boxed with a 28-90,boss says i can have it for €300,which i', pretty sure would have been below cost price?
just wondering if anyone here has used one?

it certainly feel's better built than the 300x,but i haven't seen the results from the 33 yet so i'm not sure

I have a 30V (basically the same as the 33) and I can recommend them. I also have an old 3000V and the 30V is just much more substantial in the hand. I've never held the 300x but its in between the 33 and the 3000. The body only price on the 30V is €400 so €300 sounds like a bargain. Get yourself a proper camera and feel like a real man :)

    I have the 30v..
Think it's great. Sounds like you're getting a good deal.

Do you not trust your boss?? LOL

€300 is a great price. Good film cameras are going quite cheap these days thanks to the upsurgence of digital. If you still like shooting on film or slide then go for it.

I'm not sure about the lens that is coming with it though, it gets universally slated by any review site I've ever seen. It's crap in short.

If you already have Canon lenses then go for this body, or even if you don't then you can use whatever lenses you pick up on a future digital body if you ever decide to go down that route.

ah no he's a sound man!

actually it's an elan7e (same thing) but if i want to sell it on it might put people off, yeah it's a good deal, guess i'll add it to the list of other gear i owe him for!

i just bought another om lense so i need more camer gear like a hole in the head!

it's very sharp and the colours can be very vibrant, looks great when cross processed very trippy!
    it's expensive though

hmm, excuse my ignorance , but can you get them processed in a normal camera shop?
EDIT: I've seen some 'cross processing' done with photoshop alright... that looks great.

well basically with cross processing your using the wrong chemicals to the way the film is "supposed" to be done, thats what gives the effect but it also ruins the chemicals in the tank so most shops won't touch it,some will do it only at the end of the way when the chemicals are being dumped anyway and the tanks washed out

depends were you go and how often they clean out their tanks

I have two rolls of Fuji Velvia ready to be processed and no one will touch it , even the Fuji centres.
The Film was expensive enough but something tells me that even if I do manage to find a place that will develop these for me its gonna cost?

Does anyone have any ideas ?

    camera exchange will cross process,
photo care (the fuji centre on abbey street) should be able to dev and mount it

Conns Cameras do slide film processing. I haven't used them - I've yet to put a roll of negative film through my TLR. Sometime...eventually...

I've used www.dlab7.com and they seem to be fine.
£3.95 sterling per roll including post

    Thanks for that lads ,
I currently use both Film and Digital Canons , my main film camera is a 300x and your right , its not as pro feeling as the 33 but still a decent camera.

My main concern with film these days is the cost , my favourite film ( Velvia ) is shooting up in cost and the places where you can get it developed are shrinking fast along with expertise in film.

Most camera lab assistants took one look at my latest two rolls of Velvia and were mystified.

Along with the cost of the film and processing costs it now comes to around 15 - 20 Euro minimum for every roll of film. At these prices I would say the days of 35mm film shooting are numbered.
