Ill be there and irish band glyder are supporting too so i get 2 great bands for the price of one below is one of the setlists from this tour so far kinda short but seems like a good show

    Manchester Academy 2, UK - 28th October 2006

    - Intro: The End
    1. On Your Knees
    2. Hate To Love Me
    3. L.O.V.E. Machine
    4. Wild Child
    5. Widow Maker
    6. Sleeping In The Fire
    7. Arena Of Pleasure
    8. The Headless Children
    9. The Idol
    10. I Wanna Be Somebody

    Encore:

    11. Chainsaw Charlie
    12. Blind In Texas

Can't say I'm too keen on that setlist..

I always hated Hate to love me, and I never really did like Blind in texas. Chainsaw charlie is a bit blah too. Widow maker seems like an odd choice but it'll be cool to hear.

I know thats only a few songs, but with the setlist being as short as it is..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 630 ✭✭✭MagnumForce

Jesus, thats a short set, well theyre apperantly changing the setlist all the time so hopefully it will get a bit more interesting, theres nothing from after The Crimson Idol except Hate To Love Me and they could have picked a better song from Unholy Terror. I hear theyve been playing Mercy from the new album at some gigs so it would be good to hear that, and maybe something from KFD.

Anyway, the point I was going to make is that up until recently on the site it stated Jaded (all girl, all rocking, all leather) were supporting, then Glyder announced they were supporting aswell, and now the WASP site says Jaded and a power metal band called Triosphere are supporting, not mentionng Glyder at all, so whats the deal? are there three bands supporting??? cos even though the bands supporting are pretty good, thats a bit much.

Mind you, if there are four bands playing, at least its finally a gig worth the money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,382 ✭✭✭Motley Crue

    3. L.O.V.E. Machine

While I like the sound of hearing this song, I also agree its an extremely small setlist, and the fact that the new track from their forthcoming album Domination isnt going to be played (they played it in Bulgaria) is a bit of a let down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,211 ✭✭✭Tazz T

Reports form earlier shows say Blackie and the crew are on top form and sounding better than ever.

I've seen 'em loads of time since the 80s and will be in attendance. Always guaranteed a great show when Blackie's involved.

Well, it seems Glyder have no idea about this anyway, as far as they know it's just them and Jaded supporting. Have emailed Raglane.com asking them, cos i like to know what going on like.

I've just been talking to someone about this and apparently the Tripod isn't ready and they're rushing around trying to find another venue.

If this is the case, they've left it a bit late.

****in hell, how hard can it be like, and why would the owners of the Tripod go ahead and accept bookings inside a window of time when they obviously wouldnt know if they'd be ready or not! especially a live band like WASP with loads of equipment, its not like a DJ or something who just has decks really. theyve postponed the gig on tomorrow night as it says on the Tripod site, you'd think that at the same time they'd announce the postponement of they following nights gig aswell because if its not ready for a DJ to play on Friday, how can it be ready for three or so bands to play the next night? If this is cancelled, i will be very annoyed.

Emailed the Tripod, asking them, got this response:
Hi Adam, it is still uncertain…I have forwarded your email to the promoter who will be in touch with you shortly to advise.

    Kind Regards,

    Clare

Unfortunatly Ive already emailed Raglane.com and got no response yet. you'd think that the venue would be the one with the answers as to whether or not they were playing there. Obviously then, they arn't playing there and are waiting to know where if anywhere they actually are playing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 630 ✭✭✭MagnumForce

Well, Ticketmaster.ie arnt selling tickets any more, rumor has it it was moved to the Crawdaddy, dispite the fact Crawdaddy only holds about 250 people. But apperantly The promotors, Raglane.com, still arnt sure, apperantly the band arn't happy with the arrangments, neither would fúckin I be!!!

    (with JADED & Triosphere)

You think they'd address this problem, seriously

Got this official response this morning
Hi Wayne, the Tripod wont be ready to open so we are trying to source an
alternative venue which is proving difficult. I have suggested they play
Crawdaddy but they are reluctant to do this so the show may be cancelled. I
    expect a decision this morning.

Posted on the official site lastnight, along with the official conformation of the venue change.

The good thing about London gigs is that the turnout and the atmosphere are always great. Tonight appeared to be a sold out gig! Sound setup was great and we had a great view from the seats on the balcony!

This is only a short review for those who couldnt make it or those just being curious, so dont expect much. Also there are no more pictures from me. I really cant be dealing with **** anymore and nor can I take bad mouthing from ****ing online assholes for no ****ing reason at all, no names needed you know who you are.......

Setlist tonight was as the rest of the gigs:

    - Intro: The End
    1. On Your Knees
    2. Hate To Love Me
    3. L.O.V.E. Machine
    4. Wild Child
    5. Widow Maker
    6. Sleeping In The Fire
    7. Arena Of Pleasure
    8. The Headless Children
    9. The Idol
    10. I Wanna Be Somebody

    Encore:

    11. Chainsaw Charlie
    12. Blind In Texas

    Setlist for Last Night
    Hate To Love Me

    L.O.V.E. Machine

    Arena Of Pleasure
    The Headless Children
    The Idol

    Comments on Last Nights Performance
Ok, first the bad points, then the good points. Last nights performance was only 50mins, they didnt play Chainsaw Charlie, and they made no comment about the cancellation of the first date. I normally wouldnt condemn Blackie for doing a 'walk off' during a song but both he and bassist Mike Duda did this twice and although the combination of Mike/Doug worked well, it just didnt seem to be fair that we got this 'extended extended' guitar solo when the concert was so short essentially.

Blackie hardly talked to the crowd, he didnt really say anything personal, and when he said he was gonna play some 'stuff they havent played live in over 20 years and some stuff theyve never done live, ever' I taught he was about to reward us for turning up on the rescheduled night with a very special tune. But alas, no, they played the songs theyd just played on the 17th in London and what I suspect they played for the last two nights in Belfast. They could have also easily added Sleeping in the Fire, either electric or acoustic, but they didnt and left the stage 20mins before the curfew.

There was also, with a new album coming out, no mention of new material or the new album or the new songs.

    Good Points
Mike Dupke was a fantastic drummer, up there with Megadeth's Shawn Drover easily. For what he played, and how he played, Guitarist Doug Blair was fantastic too. The T-Shirts at 25Euro were extremely cheap, and I'm not just trying to find good things about the gig, I'm saying this because on the scale of things most gigs I go to usually charge between 30 and 50 for a T-Shirt so it was nice to get a fair price. I also think the fact that Blackie signed all the CDs that were being sold, at a very reasonable 14Euro, was also excellent. Blackie's voice was on top form, he knew what he was doing at every minute of the set, and he made sure the crowd felt everything. I also taught it was nice how Blackie stopped at the end of the gig to sign the vinyl someone on the Ground Floor handed him. Most artists wouldnt do that I reckon.

Overall I had a good time and enjoyed myself and think it was an excellent show.

Are you sure, umm, maybe I missed that one. I did think the set was incredibly short, and I wanted to kill the soundman cause he put on a Theory of a Deadman record just before WASP came on...I dunno where he got it, it gives me shivers to think about it!lol

I disagree, Id say thats pretty good considering the average prices have risen steeply. Its cheap enough, considering the quality of the T-Shirts, and what youd pay at other gigs

Totally agree with everything you said. I was talkin to a guy after the show that got the actual setlist the band were using and cahinsaw charlie was on it. I've no idea why they didn't play it, . nevermind though it was an excellent show. plus i got Doug Blair's guitar pick :D
