Up until a while ago I could go onto Sky News and view the site fine. Now when I go in the index strip that used to be on the right (and still is on my work PC) is straight down the middle covering everything. I've attached a screen capture to demonstrate. I have the problem with one or two other sites that I used to be able to view ok.

I haven't made any changes on my PC (that I know of). Can anyone suggest what settings I need to change.

    Many thanks

    Deirdre

Thats an odd problem indeed. I tried Sky News in Firefox and Internet Explorer and it worked fine. What version of IE are you running? You could try clearing the cache, in IE go to Tools->Internet Options and then Delete Files.

By any chance are you using the ad blocking feature in Norton Internet Security ?

Sky may have changed some feature or element on the site, but your browser may be clinging onto an older, odder version.

I would try pressing CTRL + F5 to force a refresh of the page - and see if that has any impact.

You could try this before deleting your entire cache ... good luck

RUU - Tried that but it didn't work

8T8 - Check that and I was - I turned it off but no change. I'm thinking my problem maybe Nortons - I had to disable my firewall ages ago because it wouldn't let me send or receive mail. Again it was working fine one day and the next day it wouldn't. Although I turned most of it off and still no change.

Trout - Tried that - again nothing.

Thanks for your help, I'll keep at it!!

check your firewall asap ... if you've no firewall, sky news is the least of your problems ... you might want to do an AV/Spyware /Adware scan before you do anything else.

your mail client should be able to go through the firewall on a particular port, usually port 25. you shouldn't need to disable any firewall for any one app

if you are happy with your firewall, and AV/Spyware/Adware ... try a new browser ... like Mozilla ... ;)

check your firewall & good luck
