    Lads,
I'm looking to book a holiday for the first or second week in october. Has anyone been away around this time? Where will i get a bit of hot weather at that time of year?

any recommendations or past experiences would be appreciated.

    cheers

Are you looking at a package holiday? If so, Cyprus gets nice weather at that time of year, and the Canaries seem to get mid 20's as well.

    Anywhere around the med.

How about southern Italy, southern France, malta etc ?

We usually travel in mid to late September and the weather is nice and warm. The kind of weather that we would call an excellent summer here in Ireland.

Canaries are probs the hottest places to go. Quiet aswell at that time of year.

    thanks

i might have a look at cyprus. I've been to the Canaries twice and i enjoyed tenerife but not playa del ingles. I thought it was the biggest kip i've ever been to.

Barcelona is another place i've been meaning to see 4 ages.

    thanks for the suggestions.

My wife and I went to Agadir in Moroccoin October 2004 with Budget Travel.
Agadir is a bit touristy and rather quiet in October, the latter part suited us. Tourists stand out a mile and the locals know when charter flights come in, and they can be a bit annoying but you learn to say "non, merci" and walk on.

We did 3 days in Marrakech, the complete opposite of Agadir. Initially intimidating (so many people, 'teeming' is the word) but quckly got into it. In Marrakech the locals leave you alone - they are busy doing their own thing. Traffic is mad and amusing. The souk markets are great.
Great food - the cous cous and tagines are great - stewed for hours so the meat melts in your mouth.

i have been to the west coast before and lived in San Diego for 4 months.
I can only take a week off work in october and for me the US requires more than a week.

for now i'm just trying to book something handy for myself & GF and another couple.

A bit of sunshine to look forward to in october. I had a look at the club travel website yesterday and there is some really good deals so i might go with something from that site.

    Thanks again for the replies
