Is it hard to combine 2 avi files into one file??

Any apps out there that make this task easy?

    Hundreds.
    Try: http://www.boilsoft.com/download.html - it's "AVI Joiner", suprisingly

I think Windows Movie Maker (supplied with Windows XP) will work for you but I think you end up with the file format as a Windows Media Video file (WMV).

AVI files can use one of many many different video/audio codecs, and even when both videos are the same codecs it may not be possible to easily join the files. It's quite likely that the video will need to be re-encoded in order to join the two, which will undoubtedly significantly decrease picture quality - whether you care about quality is another issue ;)

I had an issue with this and no amount of free programs would deencode the avi's for me. In the end I used bink smacker to mash them together...
