Has anyone ever got their mobile phone s/w upgraded??

I have the K750i and I was told that I should get my phone s/w upgraded as companies release patches for phones and my mate who works in Ericsson told me that I should get your s/w upgraded as all phones have patches released every so often for them.

I say most phone shops would look at you like

Do people know where i could get this done??

Depends on the type of phone, Sony Ericsson is probably the easiest, just go to their support site and download the Sony Update Service, this will install the latest firmware on your phone. If you phone is not generic (i.e. Vodafone, O2 etc branded) then you will get the latest firmware the operator has approved/tested.

Most Nokia's on the other hand need special cables and hardware to flash them.

Do you know for certain if flashing a Vodafone branded 6680 with generic firmware will disable Live support? I always believed it did but I've heard conflicting reports.

Don't know about the 6680, but an N70 with generic works fine on Vodafone Live
