Just wondering could any of ye tell me the name of the student card for the trains. I know there is the student card that is on the website but there is another one, it's called something like fair-way or 16-26 or something. Anyone know where i can get info for it?

Also i'd like to say how crap the trains are at announcing destinations. The speakers are **** and the drivers talk too fast and too low. I usually havn't a clue wat is said and i'm sure anyone who ain't from ireland barely realise it's actually someone talking. It's the same way in some stations, guys muttering on intercoms.

farecard is what its called. costs about 10 euro, and gives you a a good 20-30% discount. You'd make your money back on it even on one return ticket to cork.

Yes - very annoying. Announcers place their mouths too close to the microphone which gives a muffled effect. They also press the PTS button and speak simultaneously and then release it as they are saying last words. They shouls pause for a second anter pressing the button and then for a second after speaking before releasing it again. Lazy and sloppy.

theres actually a student travelcard but you have to get it stamped by your college and send it away.

the farecard is an under 26 card - it will give you a cheaper fare - about a couple of euros more than the student card.

you're prob better sending off for the student travelcard because you can use it for discount in hmv and for gaa matches etc. i think it costs €12

Ya exactly, I don't know wat the rush is they seem to annouce it as fast as possible. I'd swear they just hate doing it but it's a joke the way they do it.

And the price is shocking, 60 euro return to kerry form dublin! and 57 euro single. Sure u could go to the continent with ryan air form less.
