It says on a sheet I have to use Smtp.irishbroadband.ie but I have that done but not very good at outlook express along time since I used it.

Ok so your incoming server (POP3) should be pop3.irishbroadband.ie and outgoing should be what you mentioned smtp.irishbroadband.ie

EDIT: Your email account is with IBB, yes?

Its cool, so lets get this straight. You want to setup your existing yahoo account in outlook? If so then you won't be able to do this unless you pay for an upgrade to yahoo mail plus.

Can I not have yahoo email and outlook I had it along time ago?

    I want two different addresses!

You can only check your Yahoo mail through the web at mail.yahoo.com unless you want to pay for the upgrade to Yahoo (its been in place for a while now) which will allow you to use it in Outlook.

One more from the novice guy! Do you mean I use my yahoo address in outlook or just have a yahoo address and an outlook account?

How much is it to upgarde?

I dont want to check my yahoo mail in outlook if thats what you meanjust want two accounts!

Ok you are confusing me here. :) I thought you wanted to check your yahoo mail with Outlook, this is possible but only with the Yahoo Mail plus upgrade, I don't know how much it costs, you will have to check out their website for that. I believe its an annual fee.

What do you mean by an "outlook account"? What other mail provider have you got apart from Yahoo (like @eircom.net, etc)?

Hotmail also charges an upgrade fee to use a hotmail account with Outlook as far as I can remember. They ended free access over 2 years ago. You will just have to use your web browser to check the hotmail account as well unfortunately.

    Poor Ruu!

If you're still having prob joebhoy1916, the simple answer is that unless you pay for a enhanced account for yahoo or hotmail, you won't be able to use outlook to send and receive your mail from those accounts. End of.

You can user any SMTP server for sending, its the POP one that has to be spot on.

nope, you often have to use your isp's smtp, as isp's restrict access to their smtp servers to their own customers only as a spam prevention. Using a smtp that doesn't belong to your isp usually fails.
