Pat McEvoy ran a novice Muaythai fight nite last night in Galway and there were 11 fights in total. As I was caught for judging and cornering my own guys I'm afraid I don't have all the names/results but here are a few things. Opening bout was a demo between two of Pats ladies and although I didn't see it, was told it was an excellant bout. Next two bouts I can't remember where the lads were from but bouts 4 and 5 were both between Cork and Galway girls and both bouts displayed some good technique and gutsy performances. One of my lads Gedaz Paskaukas beat a guy from Pats camp and then Gary Harty had a draw with one of Mike Dockerty's guys who gave a great display particularly when he was giving away a BIG weight difference. Can't remember the next couple of bouts but one of my lads Rokas Blinstrubas beat a Polish guy from Pats (although this guy might have faired better in MMA with some of his "unorthodox" clinching. The bout was actually scored a draw as Rokas was a bit heavier. Two of Pats guys fought a good fight in the next demo bout and the last bout was won by one of Anthony Corkerys lads (again all of the Cork lads showed great technique especially considering they were all novices) again a guy from Dennis Brosnans camp.

This was a very good show for novices and I'm gonna help organise the next one with Pat in September (probley the 10th) and we hope to organise at least another two before Christmas. These on top of Anthony Corkerys next show on Sept 30th and Pat McEvoy's Oct 15th, so busy times ahead.

Was under "C" Class rules, with 16oz gloves, shin guards, head guard and chest protectors

its the way to go, you ever talk to any uk fighters they have 2 fights and then you find out they also had 36 amateur fights that they forgot to tell you about :) and thats why they just gave you a kicking :)

might get one organised in dublin in the next couple of months if there interest
