Hey guys. Anyone know of a dentist or dental technician who makes pro gumshields at an affordable price in Dublin preferably near the city centre?? Ive been on to a load of guys some looking for 40 quid for one, some looking for 65 quid for two and one guy looking for €90 for one gumshield?!!

RED RAVEN, Paddy Clint was telling me you might know someone?

€40 ain't bad for a moulded one really. I have a mouthguard from opro ( http://www.opro.com/home_uk.asp?CountryCode=1 ) for a few years. Very happy with it.

Or just get the cheapy ones and change them regularly? They only cost a few quid, or go for a "ShockDoctor" brand one for a bit more dosh. Good yokes, and I'm wondering how much better a Dentist fitted version would be?

If there's a specific reason you want a custom fitted shield just ignore this post mate :D

If you just want to save your teeth and jaw, try a shockdoc and see how you go. I did find mine a little longer than the cheapie ones and got some mild gagging on it. After taking various guys advice here, and cutting some material from the back of the palate part with a scissors, it's a lot better now.

€40 is not bad , my brother is a dentist & he made mine, it's excellent !!!

I got mine free but I think they usually charges about €80.

Your best bet would be to cut out the Middle man (The Dentist) and go to a denture technician there is loads around.....there's one on Doreset Street facing Black Tie & there's one on Blessington Street off Dorset street as if you're heading up to Bridgstone Muay Thai.

As far as I know Bridgestone have a guy that does their gumsheilds but not too sure on the details, I'm sure if you contacted Paul Kelly he'd send you in the right direction.
