Zen Vision:M Detection problem

ok, I'm not sure where to start, but I got my zen today, most went fine, until detection, I've used Creative's website support, and the end result of it was that I need to fix my registry, which I don't plan on doing. The Zen has been recognised fully and synced only once. it hasn't since, it's detected in settings -> system etc, but not in WMP 10 or M Vision Media Explorer. it's all plugged in properly, but during that one time it managed to sync, the pc froze while it was putting stuff on the zen, and I ended up taking the usb cable out of the port without safely removing it while the pc was still frozen, and inevitably had to press the reset button on the Zen, now that you've read all this, what are your suggestions?

Try another PC so you know if its a problem with your PC or the player..

Re-install Media Player 10, and see if that does the trick.
