    anybody see that report on RTE about skelling michael, it seems like they are rebuilding parts of the walls, and a local man finds this is goes beyond conservation to reconstruction and destroying the orignal work, the OPW replied that it was been done by professionals under supervision but never explained why it was been done...

    i find alot of reconstructed works take away the atmosphere of historical sites.

    I happen to know rather a lot on this subject; the claims were made by a man who didn't actually visit the site! The archaeologists followed procedure. They were forced to rebuild some walls because they were slipping over a cliff!
