I need to close off the main Fireplace in my house. I plan to cover the hole made by t with plaster board and put a vent in it.

Is there anything else that I would need to do?

Just to get you started - have a think about the next time you have a heavy hail shower

Thats easy, I plan to get a weatherguard installed. Oh and I forgot to mention one thing there is a back boiler behind the fireplace, though it is not operational.
