Wow this is fantastic news. I saw them in Glastonbury 2000. I remember we just said wed sit at the back and watch for the laugh. Within about 10 seconds of them coming on stage we were on our feet running for the front. Almost went to Wales last year to see them. The new album is pants but Id say this will be a great show. Thanks for the heads up. Toolwha?

I dont mind paying 25euro for Bloodhoung Gang. Its a pretty established show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,073 ✭✭✭Nea

I saw them at the Astoria last Nov and they were shyte, EES kicked them off the stage. I dunno if it was down to the fact the last album was arse.

I saw BHG twice before that and they were class, dont think I will bother unless EES support

Went to see EES last year, they were supporting Bloodhound gang.
I thought BG were great fun.
Only knew one song; bad touch, but I enjoyed a lot.
and EES were fantastic as always:cool:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,073 ✭✭✭Nea

I dunno if it was the fact Hefty Fine was muck, that EES blew me away and BHG were crap in comparison or that I am possible getting a bit old for their childish antics (a lot of puking and spitting)

Anyhoo, just noticed on the EES website http://www.electriceelshock.com they are to support BHG on this tour but dunno if it will include Ireland.

If so I will be more that happy to pay €25 to see EES

Hello there it is Bob Slayer here... tour manager of Electric Eel Shock...
EES are supporting The Bloodhound Gang in Denmark and Germany but after that they will go into the studio to record the new album so they wont be with them for this gig.
However EES will be back in Ireland very soon!

    Double cheers

    Bob

ps The Bloodhound gang are ace - childish yes - but also very ace - and I think they have pyros this tour - I love a good bit of fire and fireworks!

Well if this is the real Bob Slayer, ta for letting us know the story.
Nice to know EES will be back in Eire.

I will give BHG a miss this time but anyone that hasn't seen them should give them a look.

Dunno about the pyros tho especially in TBMC!!!!
Plus I thought thats why Rammstein havent played here.

Brass Punk, we're planning a fast and furious warm up set. Looking forward to it. Then we'll be out to enjoy the rest of the gig.

Debut album due out January 2007

Played some European dates with the BHG in Feb/March used our friends Electric Eel Shocks tourbus, which was great untill we ran out of diesel. When we called Bob Slayer he told us the gauge was a bit dodgy!

Check out our websites if you'd like to know anymore or blast a pm to us.

I just think a lot of what they do, while in fun, is quite immature....and it just doesnt appeal to me...i mean who realises an album called The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Hitler's Handicapped Helpers?...and as well as that I think that some of their songs are racist and highly offensive, 'Yellow Fever' just being one example.

Bands I like, Guns N Roses and Motley Crue, came out with deeply offensive and even racist songs ('One in a Million') but the Bloodhound Gang just seem to me like a band that I dont really like, and the reason I made the comment before, was because they seem to be popular with guys in college in America with three things on their mind....getting laid, getting stoned and watching porn.

Each to their own, absolutely, and please by all means enjoy the Bloodhound Gang (im sure someone will remind me they dont need my permission to do this)...I honestly mean that...its just not my cup of tea.

Although having said that my little brother is a fan and I might be subjected to them:(

Fair enough, i get what your saying, they aren't for everyone.

The title you mentioned is a demo from the early 90's. They've come a long way since then(well maybe not that far)

Ah! Great gig! had so much fun!!

    Here's some pics:

    http://minds.may.ie/~rivers/bhg/

You can read some of the screens in the back like "Cavan people eats rats" which was cool that it was all very localised!

    Haha, those backgorunds are hilarious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,836 ✭✭✭Toast

Was a good show but annoyed they didnt play Mope or Boom. Crowd was pretty into the whole thing and the backgrounds were funny indeed. Didnt seem that packed either for a sold out crowd. I Wonder who advised them on the backgrounds. Rivers apologies for not being more chatty again.. youve a knack of saying hi at the worst times.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,110 ✭✭✭Mr Rivers

I knew they wouldnt play Boom cos there's another vocalist on that but it woulda been sooo good! Was hoping they'd play Yummy Down On This, it's an anthem in our house!

Agreed it was a great Bloodhound gig out of the dozen we've seen as a band. And it's always better for us when MR Jigs is asked to introduce them! Here's his myspace link:

Thanks to all the early birds who saw us, the people that bought merchandise, the people that asked us to show us around Dublin afterwards and the people that bought us drinks, plus all the staff etc at TBMC. We had a blast apart from having to go on first.

    Peace
