Hi. Got a new machine. Got my 1st PCI-E graphics card too. Its a http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=320217

Any idea what the safe operating temprature is? System monitor is saying: GPU1: 57 degrees and GPU2: is 67 degrees.

I'm trying to play Battlefield 2 and it keeps crashing out.... and some of the textures have a blue hue...

These temps are within range.....this is a hot card! Edit:: are these idle or load temps? ::
I'm guessing this is a driver issue, but have a check on the Guru3D forums HERE as any issues should have a thread or two.

Sweet card. A mate of mine just got one, his temps are around 50-55 idle, 70-80 when running a game. How does it run on other games?

What sort of PSU have you got in the system ?

Also have you tried the latest drivers 91.37 ?

Have you updated your motherboards bios ?

If you check over NVNews forums you will see the occasional reference to bad 7950 card but lets hope it doesn't come to that.

Have you checked other games/benchmarks for visual artifacts 3D Mark 06, F.E.A.R
Age of Empires III, Tomb Raider Legend (next gen content mode enabled) etc.

If other games come out okay then it is probably a software issue.

Thanks for the replies lads. I'll have a look at the Guru 3d site now. I have the latest drivers installed as the machine has just been built. Not updated the bios yet, but the motherboard came out of its wrapping only 2 days ago! I'm gonna stick halflife 2 on and see how it runs. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with BF2 not with the machine at this stage.

Switched the machine on there about 20 mins ago and have done nothing more than use the internet and GPU1 is 55 degrees and gpu2 is at 65 degrees.... so, I hope that's normal or else I'll be needing a new feckin card!

If you Google search you will see 50-60c is about the norm idle temp for a 7950GX2 & climbs to around 80c under load so I don't think there is a problem there.
