2K GTD on Ladbrokes. I haven't played on this site for a year and today disovered I had $22 there so played this.

Blinds are 400/800 and I have 9K in 15th of 25 remaining players. 10 get paid.

It's folded to the button (4.5K) who pushes and the SB (8K) immediately goes all in over the top. Both players are tight and have been very quiet up to this point.

    Call or fold with Jacks?

Are the blinds going up soon?

I'd still fold here. The second player obviously doesnt want anyone else entering the pot so you are probably ahead of him or at worst 50/50.

TBH I cant see you being far ahead if you were to call.
And if you were to fold you still have plenty of chips left to wait for a better spot.

    You're getting 13/8 on a call? I think it's marginal, but I think I fold.

It's was half way through the blinds level.

fold because of your read, it sounds like sb would often fold 88 or AT here so you won't be ahead often enough. Calling should be standard: usually the SB will be pushing with hands like 66 and maybe A9.

I thinkthis one is really really close. I folded. Button had AT. SB had 99. Although the button has been pretty tight its pretty safe to assume he is pushing with almost anything when folded to him on the button when he's this shortstacked. The SB put me off my hand by going all in OTT so quickly. He'd been so quiet I thought their was a fair chance I'd be in truoble against him. My jacks would have held up but I still managed to come 5th in the touranment. With no read I'm poretty sure I call here every time.

i fold this. you have 9k so you're grand for at least another orbit or 2. SB could very easily (and probably) has either AA, KK, QQ, JJ (ha), AK, AQ or KQ. he likely just wants to get it heads up and take it down instead of risking someone else coming in and decreasing his odds of winning the pot.

i'd say 70% of the time you're a coin flip or a big underdog
30% you're ahead of the SB.

no need to get involved here. if you're gonna be putting what is essentially your whole stack in at least be the aggressor or wait til you have a stronger hand than JJ in a 3 way pot.

    i pick FOLD

In that particular spot, ur read on the players in question is not so important. I dont care if its Rocky I and Rocky the Rock 2, there is a universal element to this hand which holds true nearly all of the time:

Invariably to a button all in push, the sb puts him on a huge range of hands, likely Ax but definitely not a huge hand. Any monster hand on the button is not an all in move. So his range of hands for that protection push is also a wider range, and not necessarily a range ahead of JJ. If anything, and if you think about this logically, its unlikely to be a reraise ahead of JJ most of the time. Most people in sb there will flat call with AA and KK hoping to keep it cheap enough for bb to come in, knowing that any hand the bb does come in with is likely dominated. With QQ i think it would be played similarily to be honest, although a reraise would be more common there. In my opinion the question is do i want to race, i give the button credit for not a lot, sb credit for A10-AK max, so do you want to race, if not then pass. This is generally speaking and of course there are times when the button has the goods or sb....

Last week on stars, ive AQ suited in bb, button goes all in, sb reraises all in and i called behind. v K J and AJ and i was abused for about an hour for the call. On the same day i had JJ in bb on a FT, in same situation, CO goes all in, sb reraises all in and i called again, this time sb had KK. I just find in my experiences of mtt, the button/sb all-in/protection is never as high a range of combined hands as any other combination of all-ins late on.
