With the day thats in it (use of mobile phones in cars will now lead to prosecution) - anyone know the best place to get a bluetooth headset?
Also info on a full car kit would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I picked up a brand new in the box nokia car kit on ebay, and even managed to find one located in Dublin so I was able to collect and cut out the postage costs. Got the ck-7w kit which is suitable for nokia's but is also bluetooth so I have it working with my sharp 550, handy enough to fit too with only 4 wires. :)

I'm buying a Pioneer Headunit with built-in Bluetooth.

    Car-kits are so 90's!

Thinking of going down this road myself rather than wiring a car kit in, how exactly does it work?

Very much like one of those Bluetooth earpieces. You pair your phone with the headunit. You can leave your moby in your pocket or in the glove compartment whilst driving, and if an incoming call comes in, the radio/CD shuts off temporarily, the conversation is played through the car speakers and there's an inbuilt microphone in the headunit.

Cheaper to get from the UK and have installed here.

I'm waiting on the Pioneer 9800BT.

I've been using a Motorola HF-800 Bluetooth Handfree Speaker for about a year now, got the wife a HF-850 about 3 months ago too. I find it pretty useful as does she.

Just click it to your sun visor and away you go, imo it beats driving around with one of those earpeices sticking out of the side of your head.

Parrot do a terrific bluetooth kit which is completly compatable with any phone manufacturer... top of the range one comes with a separate display that sits on your dashboard and you can go through your phone menu on it names numbers etc... think ya can even text (have to chek that) available from the phone factory in ballymount...

put one of these in my car last month.
works a treat, separate screen you can read the text messages on but cant send them (not that you would want to try texting as you drive anyway)
