Motherboard and CPU replaced in 6 month old laptop

I just had my motherboard and CPU replaced in my Toshiba satellite M50 under guarantee. The thing is I was wondering what causes this kind of thing because I imagine it would be pretty expersive if it was out of guarantee. Very surprised it happened after around 6 months.

I had a very similar extremely frustrating problem with my Dell M170 (1 graphics car,2 motherboards,1 bluetooth module replaced) and this was after six months too.I looked after it like a small child and I could see no reason for the problems only other thatn bad parts.I suppose **** does happen....
