Some very interesting stuff in here... really looking forward to this season now:
    * The producers are looking at 3.1-3.6 as a mini-series.

    * 2.1 didn’t deal with the raft survivors, and now it looks like some of the regulars will not appear in 3.1, which will focus on Jack, Kate and Sawyer.

    * The show is casting one new male and two new females. One of the females is intended to serve as a romantic interest for Jack.

    * “The inter-relationship between the outside world and the island will be something that will be a part of Season 3.”

    * Both the smoke monster and the polar bear will be part of the new season.

    * Series co-creator J.J. Abrams “is going to co-write the premiere with [co-creator Damon Lindelof], and our hope is he will direct Episode 7, which will be the first episode of the new pod.”

    * There appear to be no immediate plans to follow up on what becomes of Michael and Walt. But a growth spurts in Michael David Kelly is “something which we've accounted for,” says Cuse.

All these were brought up in a recent interview between Carlton and TV Guide columnist (and 'Lost' fanatic) Michael Ausiello..

ya, that seems strange, since it seemed like jack and kate were getting back to the way they were originally, and with the 'look' at the end of season 2...i dunno. sounds good though, and i cant bloody wait.

and could the other female be his sister? assuming its not claire?

i don't really think it's overkill, since they're keeping the main cast number constant at 14. they did the same after season one, replacing three characters they had removed (Shannon, Boone and Walt) with three new one's, and now again having removed three characters, they're levelling things out again.

I'm starting to get excited about them now, especially since details have begun to surface.

This would be stupid imo. Does that mean they wouldn't explain what The Others did with Walt? Why they were so fascinated by him? His "powers" that we saw in Season 1? How he appeared in various parts of the island after he was kidnapped?

    interesting...
heard something recently about time not passing at the same speed on the island as the rest of the world.

I'm not too sure if this is a good thing. Obviously to some extent it'll be good if it answers questions, but for some reason I just didn't like Penny as a character, and I'm not too pushed about the introduction of more that aren't based on the island.

    Whatcha mean?..

.. so you don't want the first episode of the new season to focus on their capture by The Others? You'd rather watch the aftermath of what happened with Charlie and Claire etc.?

I know which i'd prefer to be watching as the opener to a new season!
