    Hello Folks,

Anybody in here go to the Classic Le Mans Race 2 weekends back. 6.7,8th of July

I did and it was exceptional!

It happens every second year on the full Le Mans Circuit.

I have never seen so many exotic racers. GT40's, 250GT's, Pantera's, 935's, 917's. If it has raced at any point in Le mans over the last 83 years it was there.

There was six groups based on different eras. The first group was for the vehicles raced in the 20's such as the big Bentley's and the Bugattis T35's.

the following groups progressed through the differnt decades and the sixth group was the later cars up to '79.

We didn't bother booking in advance. You get ripped off. That's for the english.
We paid 42 euros at one of the many entrances and this meant you were allowed into any of the Grandstands.
Unlike all the other motorsport events, this ticket gave you access for the 3 days of the Festival.

I've been to six of the contemporary Le Mans races and unless you can afford a DB9 or 250GTo and have an access all areas pass which will cost you dearly, the Classic Le Mans is the one to see.

I followed a lovely Bullitt Mustang off the Ferry he was in the same Camp site I was. Karting Nord is one of the better campsites. 70 euros per car is a bit steep but it does allow you to camp for 3 nights.

    So start saving for 2008..

    Yes,

I heard a lot of Panel beating going on in the Pits.

I took 300 photos of the event. I might post a few of the better ones. The cars in the Campsite were amazing too.

4 German wealthies towed there GT40's in with State of the Art Campers.

    please please post the pics,

Its a pity it clashed with Goodwood, it probably hindered both events a bit, and the Monaco classic weekend is every two years too, only its the same year as Le Mans, they really should stagger those.

    Lets see the pics.

By the way, is anyone going to the Goodwood revival in September?
