SMTP Problem - Thunderbird

Im trying to run 3 mail addresses through thunderbird at the moment. The primary one is a gmail address and so the outgoing SMTP is smtp.googlemail.com.

I can check mail on the other 2 addresses (an o2.ie and an eircom.net) no problem but when I go to send any mail from either of those accounts, it asks me for the smtp.googlemail.com password. I've put in my gmail password there, and also tried the passwords for the other 2 addresses but none of them work.

How come I can check the mail but not send it from the other addresses?
    Thanks in advance!

I think your outgoing server should be set at whatever your ISP uses for that.

So for 3 mail addresses I need to add in 2 more smtp server addresses?

I use 3 email addresses, eircom, iol and my local cable provider and use their outgoing server as the default for sending all mail. I don't use more than one outgoing server (under Outgoing Server in Account Settings).

You should be able to use your ISP's SMTP server for all accounts. Google SMTP-replay for reasoning behind it.
Otherwise: Did you ensure your gmail 'username' is entered in full (i.e. you@gmail.com )?

Yeah I have gmails smtp in as the default outgoing server , and the full gmail username in there. I can send and receive fine using the gmail.

When I click compose, and then change the address in the "from" part, it goes to sending the mail through smtp.googlemail.com and then puts a password box up. Thats as far as I can get.

I think I've sorted it now.

One thing Ive noticed with multiple accounts is that say someone emails you to your o2 account, and you reply.. it replies with gmail because thats the first one in the list.

Is there a setting that makes it reply using the address the mail was sent to?

Sorry if thats as clear as mud. Basically Im trying to email someone in an office that has incoming gmail blocked.
