Hey just letting everybody know that Veronica Mars which is pretty popular in the USA is on RTE Mon-Fri @ 2:30 and series 2 is on LivingTV @ 8pm on Thursdays. Didn't think I'd like it at all but I'm hooked!! Very modern, a little bit cheesy but still pretty good!!!

Since UPN, the American station which airs it calls it a sitcom! It is great, gotta love it!! Do they have DVD box sets for it on sale in Ireland?

I'm just after my LC and currently unemployed so it's great when I have nothing better to do!! Fits in perfectly with partying and job hunting!! And i just noticed the other thread there, so maybe this should just be an appreciation thread instead of a let's bitch about RTE thread!

im glad that its getting some new fans from the rte showings! :D

there isnt a dvd available over here of the show yet :( but if ye can play region1/american dvd's on your computer/dvd player.

i'd definitely reccomend you import the first season dvd boxset(season 2's is coming out in late august) from somewhere like dvdpacific

can wait till season 3 in october!!

is the other thread not good enough?

I didn't notice it when I posted earlier! I actually came across Veronica Mars about a year ago on www.upn.com because I used check out Top Model and it was only a few months ago that I looked @ a scene of it on UPN.com and I was impressed!! Season 3 looks great, especially the storyline in which I become pregnant and give away a spoiler somehow.

Season 3 looks great, especially the USE F**KING SPOILERS!
Jaysus, there's people here who've seen only the first few episodes of Season 1 and you're printing out spoilers - and they are spoilers - for Season 3? Edit your post please!

This happens later in season 2. Secondly Veronica graduated Neptune High and will attend Hearst college in season 3.

BTW UPN has always called VM a drama not a sitcom.

The Veronica Mars boxset you can get imported from America uses multi-region disks so anyone can view them. I presume Season 2 will be the same.

Can it really be classed as a sitcom? Is Buffy a sitcom?

hmm, will give this a watch since I start work at 5 these days, might break up the drawl of daytime telly.

Did you watch it and if so what did you think? Today was a good episode actually!

I watch it on Living TV because they show it (now!) at a reasonable time! Last year they showed season 1 over 3 weeks every day! I think it's one of the best programmes on tv, but unfortunately in the US the audience numbers are quite low, so it's in danger of being cancelled...
And it's not a sitcom, it's a drama. Friends and Will & Grace are sitcoms.

It has been renewed for a third season. And no, it is definitely not a sitcom.

13 episodes for season three but if the ratings don't improve they won't get the back order of nine episodes to make 22. So VM is in real danger of cancellation.

It's the other way around..a full series of 22, with an option to reduce to 13 if the ratings don't hold up.

No they (as in producers nad the network) have confirmed they only have an episode order of 13 and will gget nine more if the hold on to their Gilmore Girls lead in.

It makes no difference, even with a full order if a programme does badly they will cancel before the order is complete.

Gilmore Girls is awful!! VM all the way!!

Veronica Mars has terrible ratings for the last 2 years, its only benn entwork and critics support thats kept it going. VM got 2 million viewers for some episodes last year and the network didn't cancel it. They really have to perform to get more than 13 episodes.

what age is the VM? in rl and on the show?

Kirsten Bell is 26 in real life and veronica was 17 in season one nad 18 in season 2.

I have to say that its a travesty that VM is even in danger of being cancelled but it was up against Lost on the schedule last year but on the new channel CW it has beatable opponents. This is the true air to the Buffy school of drama. Joss Whedon himself said as much. But will rte move it to a more attractive time with the end of lost for this year?

I hope they do for Autumn anyway. VM is one of the best shows I've seen in a while and I'm not even into Buffy, Charmed etc but this show has really sold me over!!!

Joss Whedon actually made a cameo in season 2, he was really good!
I'm a huge fan of Buffy and Angel, and I think it's the only new programme that can actually tap into the Buffy/Angel fanbase, so it's madness to keep showing it at 2.30 in the afternoon. Even if RTE just pushed it forward to the evening around 7 it would make more sense!

Charmed doesn't even compare to Charmed. WTF????

Loads of people think that fans of Buffy and CHarmed are into VM. I'm not into both of them but Veronica Mars on it's own sold me over.

it just stupid after see those pictures, I can't get her back to being a teenager in the show she seems to settled in herself.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but the idiots at RTE have decided to finish Veronica Mars for the moment with episode 21 (penultimate episode of season one) because the next day Showjumping from the RDS is on instead.

I don't know how long The RDS Event lasts for but hopefully they will show Veronica Mars when Showjumping finishes.

Yeah I noticed that too I was like wtf?! They better finish it off @ least. Hopefully season 2 will begin on Network 2 in Autumn or even if they showed series one again @ a good time for more viewers it would be great to get more people into it. My friends started watching it this week and they love it!
