    Hand 1
2/4 6 max PLO, I am on small blind w AA45 one suit - 4 limpers and I make it 25 to play. 2 callers so pot is 100 – flop 77J, no flush draw – all three players have between 200 – 250 after preflop action . I am first to act – Action?

    Hand 2
2/4 6 max PLO I am button with JJ88 one suit, early position raises to 14 to play I call, SB who is tight aggro reraises pot making it 58 to play, initial raiser calls, My action? I put the SB on aces so obviously am behind but am considering call as chances of winning a v large pot are good if I hit j, 8 str8 or flush. Stack sizes before hand – me 280, SB 600, initial raiser 250

Hand 1: In a raised pot with 2 callers betting this flop is risky. I'd check and see what happens. If you bet then you have to call an all-in.

Hand 2: I think it's marginal folding or calling. Tough one.

Hand 1 - I thought about check folding but thought that was too weak as I am only in trouble v either of the 7s or JJ. I bet pot, was called, button reraised all in - so an easy fold at that stage. First caller had 7, button jj. Am i better off checking flop here? Whats my line if facing pot bet from either button or other player? Perhaps a bet of 1/2 pot to 3/4 pot would be better, giving up to a reraise?

Hand 2 - thought this was an excellent chance of double up - and hovered over call before hitting fold j45 flop sb pots it and is called by initial raiser - turn jack - I know this is all irrelevant? My q is whether there is enough value for me to call preflop knowing I am only going to play post flop if I am big favourite (i.e. trips or str8) and most likely we will all be all in?

Hand 1 I would likely have check folded on that flop, and hand 2 is a marginal one tbh, but most of the time you will miss the flop entirely, hit a set 1 in 4 times (getting nearly 3.5-1 odds here), or flop a poor flush draw or some sort of a straight draw. This is very close, but I am usually on the cautious side in Omaha so I would likely fold also, but it may be more correct to call due to implied odds if you hit a set with no A/K/Q on the flop.

Checking allows you to see what Villains do before putting $$ in the pot.
On the flop the pot is $100, you have maybe $220 and bet $100, leaving you with $120. When you bet the $100 on the flop you get 1 caller and a reraiser. You then have to put something like $120 into the middle to likely win a pot of $700 ish. Big pot odds, maybe villain each only have the bare 7?

If you check the flop you can see if the first villain bets and then what Villain2 does acting after him. There's also a chance it might get checked around. The only way you win by betting is if Villains have none of the flop, you find this out anyway by checking and seeing who bets.

If Villains will put their stacks in with unimproved AAxx then it's a reasonable call I think. If Villain is capable of missing with his AAxx and then check-folding when you bet it's not.
Having position after the flop is another reason to call. There's a small chance Villains check and you get the turn card for free. And If Villain continuation bets and you have hit, he will be pot commited and can't fold.

First one I would often check. If I bet I would not be willing to get all in, I would bet something like 75 and fold to a push.

Second one I call instantly, you are almost getting the right price to flop a set, never mind implied odds or other ways you can win the pot.

yes - having looked at it I agree w roundtower - bet of 75 folding to a push or a check fold.

second hand was a terrible fold looking at pot odds something like 44 more to win 175 and 25% chance of hitting a set, before implied odds etc - my sisters boyfriend was hovering over my shoulder while playing this hand and think it put me off slightly as I hit fold at last min and regretted it immediately (before I saw flop). Regretted it a lot more when I saw flop and ensuing action.
    thanks for replies
