I have practically no idea what is going on at the WSOP this year as I have recently moved and have no BB as of yet, and work internet doesn't allow me to look up 'gambling' sites, so I hang off any info I get from here and Antesup.

Good to hear Padraig is doing well. Anyone got a prize structure?

decent effort in field of over 2k players, be great to see him win it, seems like a nice chap.

Great chance now for a true legend of Irish poker. What a performance already to get through a 2,100-strong field. Atmosphere building tonight in the Rio as FT drew closer and closer. Mad Marty Wilson and his entire extended family cheerleading for the Irish at tableside along with Padraig's close pals Jesse May, Julian Gardner and Rory Liffey as well as myself, Dave and Niall O'C, Oscar, Leslie and Stephen McLean, Ivan Donaghy...

FT should be fun later today. Padraig is certain he's going to win. I've never seen him more focused, he's looking really fit and healthy, relaxed and confident, playing very aggressive poker, pulling all sorts of moves yet making some really disciplined laydowns, hopefully today is the day he will get the bracelet he deserves.

edit: the above is KP's half-pissed stream of Jack Daniels semi-consciousness, not Dave's. I always forget to log him out and me in when I turn on his laptop.

    GOONYAGOODTHINGYA PADRAIG.

A perfect example of how to play the latter stages of a big tournament,I have been watching from halfway thru day 1 and he has had no double ups since then just a gradual accumulation of chips without any showdowns.(if ur not in a showdown u cant get knocked out). The only time his name was mentioned last night was when he lost with AK v QQ and he stil got there with enough chips.
The best FINISHER that Irish poker has ever seen WILL WIN THIS BRACELET

I don't know how you got that from the post. The FT hasn't happened yet.

A bit misleading alright.....But "Will Win" in the future.
Final table resumes with 9 players with chips counts as per BigD's OP.

I think this completes today. I think the previous poster was being a bit hasty with the results. I'm looking in the official press room to see what the latest is and I'll put it on Antesup.

Also CardPlayer sucks. Go to www.pokerwire.com and look for the "Event 27" in the drop down box and leave the page up. It updates automatically.

Anyone know what the starting blind level will be for the final table. Padraig has the 3rd shortest stack so lets hope there's a lot of play.

    3
    Chris Birchby
    725,000
    4
    Padraig Parkinson
    620,000

Its pretty even. Im sure Padraig would have taken this situation coming into the FT

The final four played 4 hands, then decided to take a short unscheduled break. I suspect there is a deal being discussed.

    Hand
    97. Padraig Parkinson raises from the button and everyone folds.

    RESPECT!!

IMO I would not be surprised if padraig initiated a deal to relieve pressure on the other players for his own advantage. I bet a very similar if not equal payout and they are playing for the bracelet. At time of unscheduled break stacks were:
    Chris Birchby 916,000 7
    Padraig Parkinson 881,000 5
    Richard Toth 730,000 2
    Mats Rahmn 663,000 3
    -- --
    Total chips in play: 3,189,000
    Players remaining: 4
    Average stack: 797,250

So I am guessing when the players are guaranteed $X payout they will loosen up and hence allowing padraig to go for the coveted bracelet he wants!

I dunno, hard to tell without seeing the table play. I would have thought P would have kept the pressure on them. I really hope he gets it!

everyones playing very tight, padraig is short stack but not very short, hes had his last three raises snapped off.

He is the best at the table though, go Ireland.

I'm in the Imperial Palace. My mate is already there so I'll be hooking up with him first, then to the Rio/Tilted Kilt.

Depending on how much kip I get on the plane I'll either go to the pub fairly soon after sorting out the Rio, or I'll be there about 10pm :)

    Padraig Parkinson Eliminated 3rd ($203,139)
    135. Robert Toth raises to $90,000 preflop from the button and Padraig Parkinson moves all in for $255,000 more from the big blind. Toth calls and shows Adiamond3spade. Parkinson turns over Aclub4spade and the board comes Aheart6heart3heartKheart3club, giving Toth a full house and eliminating Toth.
