Right I just lost my virginity to a hooker, I feel sick now but the moment took me over if you understand.

Right now I am really afraid I have aids and I cannot bring myself to get it tested. I also feel like a total scumbag for bringing a hooker into my familys home (I hope they didnt hear).

What do I do? I have one hand covered in blood from trying to punch an asshole (Im not a scumbag but he really deserved it) and afraid I might have aids. If I walk into any clinic they will think I am the lowest of the low which I ****ing am. GUys no matter how desperate you are, never go with a hooker they are horrible.

    No you're not.
Go to a clinic, get tested. The people who work there do this every day for a living, and they won't care who you are.

Did you use protection? Either way, get tested. There is supposedly some treatment you can get in an emergency after having unportected sex, which might decrease the possibility of contracting HIV. Im sure other posters will know more. A girl I was with got this done a few months ago when we discovered that the condom had broken, I think its in St James? Could be wrong

I don't quite understand your post. Re: punching an asshole-was the hooker a shemale?

    STI clinics: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=152605
They deal with so much they won't bat an eyelid. Get tested. Focus on the positive.

You are not a scumbag.Don't worry too much.By the law of averages,Its unlikely you have AIDS.Maybe be more courageous when trying to chat up a girl.It would be more special and better if you do it with someone you care for.

    Oh yeah.Do get checked.

What's done is done, OP. Take the advice that the others have posted. Best of luck.

    Agree fully,
Just go for the test, you may very well come back fully clear, and as far as your family goes, sometimes it's best to keep quiet on these things...

    Good Luck :)

Post-exposure prophylaxis is a series of drugs that's usually reserved for rape victims/needle-stick injuries, as you have to take it often and there are lots of side effects. But if you really think you are in danger of contracting HIV, you could look into it. You have to get it within 72 hours, and the sooner the better.

FuzzyLogic is correct. I think that the clinic people would be more concerned if you didn't get tested right way, and posed a risk to others. Get a full panel when tested for all STDs, as HIV is not the only concern these days. Hepititus C is much worse according to a guy I know who does research at university.

    What does this mean?

look nothing you can do now is stop feeling sorry for yourself and worrying yourself to death and go to STD clinic, they see people everyday so to them its nothing .. thats just their job, they wont JUDGE you.

Alternatively you can go to a GP and get tested by them, pick some doctor thats not local to you and go see them, they can test you for whatever. You dont have to say you slept with some hooker just say you slept with someone you didnt know that well and now you are worried about it.

This kind of stuff happens everyday, you need to relax and deal with it. By the way dont have to tell them to look for AIDS in particular just ask for a full STD test, and just to make sure ask whats included in that. But from what I know I think AIDS is included in them all.

The Clinic wont know who you have shagged, it could be your GF, your wife what ever! they dont care either, lie if you have too. Tell them you saw some program on STDs and it scared the bejesus out of you so you just want to get tested for everything to make sure your fine.

You will be fine. Relax, see a doctor and stop punching scumbags :)

Get checked out. These people see things like that every day. They're not going to judge you. It's their job

People get STD tests every day, you don't have to fill them in with the details of the deed.

totally. but you have to make sure you never put yourself in that 'moment' again.
Right now I am really afraid I have aids and I cannot bring myself to get it tested. I also feel like a total scumbag for bringing a hooker into my familys home (I hope they didnt hear).

    What do I do?

Where do you live? You can get tested pretty anonymously in dublin. It's a much bigger deal to you that it will be to the staff in the clininc

you are certainly displaying scumbag behaviour, the more it happens the less sympathy you will get.

If I walk into any clinic they will think I am the lowest of the low which I ****ing am.

you're not, not on the back of a one-off like this. The choice is yours as to how you deal with the situation, whether you learn from it or not.
GUys no matter how desperate you are, never go with a hooker they are horrible.

The experiance may have been horrible, but don't blame the girl. I'm sure she enjoyed it even less than you. It's a ****ty situation, blame the system not the girl.

Do you have some reason to believe the 'hooker' was HIV positive? From anecdotal evidence, 'professionals' tend to be a lot more careful about safe sex.

You may be feeling a lot of guilt for having been with a prostitute, but there is no need to blame your problems on her. YOU chose to be with her, YOU chose not to use protection.

Nobody deserves to be assaulted, however 'scumbag' they are.

Go to your doctor or a clinic, get tested, hopefully get an all-clear and keep your temper under control.

I was in the same position many, many moons ago. Trust me go and get tested. It'll be WAY easier than the amount of sleep you'll loose if you dont.
An interesting point that might help your worrying though... When I went to to doctor, he told me that apparently in ireland to catch AIDS through having sex with a woman is pretty rare. The one to watch out for a clamidia (dont know if thats the right spelling). Make you get checked for tha twhile you're at it. And dude...DONT WORRY.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

I got tested recently. The doctor told me he has never met an Irish heterosexual male who got HIV from heterosexual sex. So stop worrying!!!

Of course you could be the first :) but I think it's unlikely.

Get tested, ease your mind, and learn from your mistakes.

PS Don't worry about making mistakes. We've all done incredibly stupid things. It's part of being human. We're not clinical robots.

That is correct for a man to contract HIV from one unprotected encounter with a woman is rare. Even if she's HIV+ the odds are still in your favour. Chlamydia is the one to watch out for alright. Much more common but easily treatable once you catch it in time. Syphillis is much more dangerous but less common.
Overall don't be so hard on yourself. Ok you did it with a hooker that only gives you something in common with millions of other men around the world so you are not a 'scumbag' just for doing that. Now if you didn't use protection that would concern me alright because the type of 'hookers' who will have sex with you without any protection are usually operating at the lower end of the market and would be more likely to have an STD so get checked out just to be sure. But don't allow this to create very negative feelings towards 'working girls' it isn't the girl's fault and even if your experience has been negative that would not always be the case. If you did use protection you should have no worries, even if you didn't you'll probably get away with it this time but be careful next time!
