    Hi,

    if you go on day-trip ferry from Greek Islands to Turkey, can you avail of duty-free, as outside EU?

    You certainly can, in Bodrum there are a few duty free shops on the jetty down to the boat for Kos

    The Greeks won't like you for it though. They go through the bags on your return with a fine tooth comb

    Great info thanks. I won't go mad with the duty free, just subtle stuff like perfume!! anything to feel like it's cheaper than Rip-Off Republic!!

    The Greeks dont mind you taking duty free back at all, after all you are comming in from a non European country. They just dont want illegal items to be brought into the country.

    They have confiscated alot of knuckle dusters and knives from young tourists and that is understandable that these are not wanted in Greece.
