Lowlands anybody?

Lowlands (Walibi World, Holland) goes on for 3 days, 8 stages (well, 6 massive tents and 2 stages - I actually saw the biggest tent ever in my life there), on the grounds of a Theme Park (€10 or so per day for entrance into it) and Camping tickets (before July 3rd) are €107.50.

18th - 20th of August. Your allowed to camp from 6pm on the Thursday (17th).
Visually amazing festival, something like 230 acts, loads of things to see and do, 7 campsites and along the lines of 65,000 people.
Flights to Amsterdam are €120 (Cork to Amsterdam with AerLingus) and from Dublin ~€70 with transavia to Rotterdam.

Amsterdam to Lleystad is about €8 - €10 by train, and there's free shuttle buses from Lleystad station every 15 mins. (or if you want to go in style, €10pp to go by stretch Limo - also waiting for you outside the station.

Organisation at the festival is brilliant aswell, serious wash and shower facilities, real toilets, it's own TV channel, it's own currency and it's own daily newspaper, and the best thing of all (if your running low on cash) they give you money to collect plastic cups (€1 for 5 cups) so it keeps the place clean too!

I went last year, and will certainly be going back this year. It's a very cheap holiday:
Flights (for me, from Cork) : €120
    Ticket : €107
Accomodation : €0 - well, maybe €20 if we've to stay in a hostel on the Monday night in Amsterdam.
Transport : €10 from the Dam to Lleystad.

Thing that ****ed my funds up last year was the food. I was constantly going to get food (hanging for munchies), and that the food there is serious!

Then, theres the whole fact that your in Holland. They sell weed tea at the festival for €2. Mushy tea for €3. Beer is €2 a cup (400ml-ish) and it is piss easy to sneak beer/drugs/hookers into the festival. Didn't get searched once, or even stopped to check me for drugs/cans. That said, they do stop you to get you to put your drink from can into plastic cup entering the festival arena from the campsite.

Overall a serious long weekend. I'm planning on flying into the Dam on Thursday morning, pick up supplies, hit Central station out to Lleystad, shuttle bus from 5pm onwards and camp in Lowlands for the night.
Friday, the festival starts at 3pm straight through till 4am-ish.
Sunday night then it goes on till around 6am, probably even later.
Out of the campsite on Monday (before 2pm) - we were queuing for (free)shuttle buses for less than 10 minutes last year - and chill out in the Dam for the evening. Find a hostel, and then fly out the following day.

Nice to see a few potential headliners on between 3 and 9pm.

    I'm going anyways... Anyone else?

Looks nice alright. Line up is missing some really big name for headliners but I would be too bothered about that cos they are usually let downs anyway. Ticket price is very reasonable, another one to consider for next year :)

Totally agree, I missed them at Roskilde this year due to severe hangover. Ended up being the gig of the festival according to everyone and everything :(
